We all know that if you can’t get a good night's sleep then it can create havoc on the rest of our day. It directly affects our concentration, our mood, lessens our energy levels and consequently it has negative influence on the interactions with others.


It is a fact that if you eat quality food then it can certainly help you get a good night’s rest.

1. Eat some cheese or any dairy product

Any dairy product can do wonders! Cheese, yogurt, milk and any food item with calcium help your body to absorb the tryptophan in dairy products.  Calcium is used to regulate muscle movements that helps to relax your body.

 2. Make a habit to eat walnuts and almonds

Walnuts are enriched with tryptophan.  It helps your body make serotonin and melatonin that are vital for good sleep patterns.  Walnuts are a good source of melatonin, that can help you fall asleep faster.  Almonds are also enriched with magnesium, that helps you to stay asleep.

3. Eat fish like Tuna or Salmon

Fish like tuna and salmon are very much rich in B6, the vitamin that our body uses to make serotonin and melatonin; these hormones are used to promote or induce sleep.
  
 4. Eat rice for dinner

Rice has high glycemic index that can help you get better sleep as it causes the blood sugar to go high and then fall. It sends you the land of nod faster.  Per the study in the American Journal it was found that Jasmine rice is the sleepiest rice!
 
5. Enjoy chamomile tea at bedtime

If you want to have a hot beverage before bed time, try a cup of chamomile tea. It releases glycine, a chemical in the body that is used as a mild sedative to relax your nerves and muscles. There is no need to drink too much if you have issues waking up at night to use the bathroom.
