The South Korean company LG may seem to have taken a turn for the better with software updates on its recent devices. First of all, LG set out its Android 10 updates for LG G8 ThinQ in its home in November, 2019. Outside South Korea, Sprint was the very first network to launch Android 10 updates on Jan 10, 2020. The next in line was locked Verizon models. Then, AT&T recently received updates for LG G8 ThinQ earlier this month. Up until now, only the units locked to T-Mobile’s network were left behind.

Here we want to break good news for LG G8 ThinQ owners and prospect buyers, your much-awaited Android 10 update is also coming up on the T-Mobile G820TM20d versions. Ta-da!!

What the Android 10 update brings on LG G8 ThinQ

The update is expected to bring all-round features and improvements. So far, a detailed changelog of the new firmware is not available. But, we have got pretty decent information from the tipsters as well as the screenshots from Redditors, which have revealed quite a lot. Here is the screenshot below:

The update reveal comes with some of the notable pointers as follows:

  • Support for the LG Pay

  • Fix for various bugs

  • Security patches

  • System improvements

T-Mobile is the third largest US-based wireless network for flagship smartphones. It has a huge customer base that uses T-Mobile’s plans for smart switch. So, the update notification was warmly welcomed by its customers.

According to the reports, the update is a biggie, coming in at 1.5GB. So you might need to ensure you're on a speedy network before beginning the download.

It also says that if you do not introduce the update in your device right away, it will be auto-installed between midnight and 3am starting February, 29th.

How to manually introduce Android 10 update

In case you are using LG G8 ThinQ with Android 9 Pie and can’t wait for 29th February for the automatic update. Here you can launch the Android 10 updates. Launch the Settings App and select the "General" tab, at that point choose "Update Center" > "System Update" > "Check for update" to check for your Android 10 update.
