Tips for a Comfortable International Flight Journey
by Vivek Thakur EmployeeIn recent times,
especially in India, travelling by air has really caught up with people with flight bookings being made in
thousands, each day. As a result, new entrants are coming into the Indian
aviation market; thereby, offering more options to people, both in terms of
pricing as well as comfort. Experts believe this is just the beginning, and the
boom in this industry is still to happen. All domestic and international
airlines offering their services within and outside India are taking all
measures to woo potential customers and offering them great services; comfort
being one of them. However, for a comfortable international flight journey, say
on Mumbai to Dubai, Kolkata to Brisbane or Delhi
to Mauritius flights, there are certain things that you need to do at your
end.
Proper
Clothing
This is one aspect
of air travel that most travelers do not take notice, but it is actually quite
essential. Experts suggest that you should always wear 2-3 layers of clothes
when you are travelling on a flight. The reason being the temperature in the
flight, most of the times, is kept low and many feel the chill. Therefore, if
you are wearing 2-3 layers of clothing, you will not feel the chilling effect.
However, it is to be kept in mind that the temperature outside may be entirely
different from that within the aircraft. So, when the pilot announces the
outside temperature just before landing at the destination, you should remove
or add another layer of clothing as required.
Eating
Properly
If you are one of
those people who are easily affected by motion, then you should avoid eating
too much on the flight as it may cause nausea. Also, regular travelers suggest
that it is always better to eat light during a journey as overeating sometimes
can cause a lot of trouble. However, one thing they suggest is drinking a lot
of liquids as long flights can dehydrate your body; though coffee should be
avoided any cost if you are already dehydrated.
Taking
Rest
On a long flight,
it is advisable to stay away from too much of television or reading as it takes
a toll on the eyes. Therefore, catching some sleep during the journey is not a
bad idea as you do not feel the fatigue when you reach your destination. Since
many airlines offer flat beds in their premium class and first class, sleeping
is not an issue at all.
Exercising
Seats on
international flights are quite comfortable, but sitting there for long hours
can be quite uncomfortable. Therefore, it is important to do some stretching in
between or simply taking a walk in the aisle, just to relax your muscles and to
avoid any cramps.
These are a few
tips that should definitely come in handy when you have booked your flight tickets to travel to an
international destination, especially if it is a long-haul journey.
