Do you know you can enhance the aesthetic of your home with decorative drapery hardware? Yes! There is a thing called drapery hardware in the market to decorate your curtains and drapes. But what's that hardware called? You must have seen it in many homes, but it's possible you have not heard about it. But, fret not! This article will help you give a gist about installing decorative drapery hardware. Let's dive in.

The market is filled with different drapery hardware these days. From tiebacks to hooks and holdbacks to finials and rings, you can find every type and design. You can choose and custom design it by picking color, texture, style, size, and trim at your convenience. This write-up, however, focuses on helping you installing tieback.

Tiebacks are decorative drapery hardware and can control the amount of natural light coming into your living space. When tiebacks are correctly installed, it makes your drapes even more beautiful.

Follow these steps to treat your window beautifully.

#Step 1: Start by measuring from the bottom of the drapes to the rod they are hanging on. Once you have the figures in your hand, divide them by the number three. If you take a standard 84-inch drape, a third of it would be 28 inches.

#Step 2: Find out what look you are trying to get for your window treatments. If your preference is to get the entire fabric above the tieback, make sure to install the tieback two-thirds down from the rod top.

Install the tieback one-third down from the rod if you prefer to get the entire fabric below the tieback. With an 84-inch drape standard size, you have to install the tieback 56-inch from the top to achieve a fuller curtain look above the tieback or 28-inch from the top for a fuller lower portion.

#Step 3: Remove your drapes from the window now.

# Step 4: Based on the one-third or two-third rule on the wall, mark the location where you want your tiebacks to be installed. Most tiebacks keep the anchor at a distance of at least 1-inch from the window frame. Tieback marks on both the side of the window should be equal and at a floor level.

#Step 5: Your tiebacks usually come with the anchor, use the same anchors and install it on the wall, as per your manufacturer's direction. Once the anchors are installed, check whether they are at the same level.

Measuring the space between the anchor and the window could help to place them evenly.

#Step 6:

  1. Hook the tieback to the anchor.
  2. With the help of screws, secure the tiebacks to the anchor.
  3. Make sure that the hook of the tieback is facing away from the window.
  4. Repeat the same process on the other.

#Step 7: Lastly, get your drapes, place the curtain back in place and install the drapes on the rod's hooks. Hold one panel of the drapes in your hand and use the tiebacks to secure it to the side. Arrange the drapes inside the tiebacks to make them visually appealing

That's it! You are all done installing the tieback for your drapes. Similarly, decorative drapery holdbacks are installed to enhance the look of your room.
