The Recalcitrant Hero

Great writing had to let others know:

Part V:

There weren't any walls backstage. It was just a wide open room, separated my many floor partitions and long tapestries that hung from the ceilings. Lefarge had been playing there for so many years that he had been given his own private area. It wasn't so much a dressing room as it was a secluded area where he could be by himself before a performance. Although there was no door, the area was hidden behind several stacks of crates and it would have been difficult for anybody to just stumble upon.
Lefarge took a quick look to make sure that the stage hand was setting everything up for his performance. Callahan, the teenager responsible for all sorts of odd jobs at the bar, was getting everything ready on the stage. Confident that he had everything under control, Lefarge wandered back to his quiet room.
As he pulled the tapestry that hung over the entrance to his room aside, he was comforted by the familiar surroundings. He had a black futon, one that he had spent some odd nights crashing on, set up on the far wall. There were several cats wandering the back room, most likely employed by the owner to keep the rats and mice at bay. Because of this, there was a rather prevalent odor of cat litter and pet dander. Lefarge inhaled a big whiff and sat down in front of a large mirror.
