Make sure that the keyboard you buy is for your laptop's exact model number and is not made with fraudulent materials, which you may find printed on your screen bezel or on a label attached to the underside of the laptop. You can simplify your search further by specifying the keyboard's part number, which you may be able to find on the laptop manufacturer's website or by calling their support/service department.

2. Replace your Keyboard through the Instruction Manual

A simple screw driver can work for simple screws. It is also best to keep instruction booklets included in your package upon purchase. There is a big use for those booklets for instructions and further understanding and comprehension of the parts of your laptop. Review your purchased part and confirm that you purchased the appropriate replacement, by placing the new one on the laptop, and seeing if it appears to be the right shape and size. Next, gather your tools: a small Phillips screwdriver for removing the small screws, and a butter knife or other small, thin, flat tool for prying off any covers.

3. Research

When you search in Google, there are thousands of results which can show you how to dismantle your keyboards. There are also numerous videos which can guide you through the operation of each brand of laptop a step-by-step direction.
