The Housebuilding Industry Praised For Providing Outstanding Customer Service

A new survey commissioned by the Home Builders Federation (HBF) and the National House Building Council shows that the customer service ratings for UK house-builders is continuing to improve.

The most recent National New Homes Survey asked more than 29,000 people who had completed on a new build home in the last year and from all those people a massive 91% said they were satisfied or very satisfied with the house builder they had used and the same number of people said they would not hesitate to recommend the house build to friends. This years results show a small increase of around a percent on the results from last year's survey, which asked the same questions.

The Home Builders Federation gives out awards to top performing house builders. If a company receives more than a 90% satisfaction rate from customers then the House Builders Federation awards them with a five star rating. This year many of the most well known names in the industry such as Redrow and Barratt have achieved this accolade.

The house building industry has often faced criticism in the past and many so called "experts" have panned new developments and the types of new homes available on the market, but the survey and awards show that at the end of the day, the house builder is delivering and the customer is happy and this is most important.

The Sales and Marketing Director for Redrow Homes said of the results that "This is fantastic news for Redrow and we are all immensely pleased to have yet again retained our five-star rating. The results found by the HBF show that Redrow customers are receiving the highest level of customer satisfaction possible.”

A number of other firms received the five star rating for the fourth consecutive year including CALA Homes and Barratt Developments. Senior figures in each company stated that the feedback from this recent survey and the award from the Home Builders Federation was what really mattered as it comes directly from those people that buy and love in the homes that these companies build.

The survey shows that despite the negative image often portrayed, and the very difficult times facing both home builders and home buyers alike, house builders as a whole are maintaining very high standards for customer satisfaction.
