India is a country known for its diversity. Here, people from all religion, culture live together. Just like there are various religions, languages, similarly there are various forms of Indian clothing and there is different attire for every occasion, right from festivals to marriages. Weddings in India are a very auspicious and solemn occasion and marriages are performed keeping all traditions in mind. Special emphasis is laid upon Tradition Indian apparel.

Both men and women are suppose to wear a prescribed dress according to the age old preserved traditions. Since the day of marriage is the biggest and the most important day in one’s life, clothes are given prior importance. Before the actual night of marriage, there are number of other occasions also like mehndi, sangeet, etc., during all such occasions huge amount of money is spend on the dresses and jewelry by the bride, groom and their relatives. So a lot of planning and effort goes in deciding Tradition Indian apparel, i.e., the wedding dress. But, all this planning makes the occasion more enjoyable by all the members of the family.

The unique Indian wedding wear

Every Indian girl dreams and fantasizes about her wedding day. So dressing up for her marriage is like a dream come true for her. The bride applies heena or mehndi on her palm and foot, a night before marriage. The next night, when all the rituals of marriage are to be performed, she wears a lehnga, which is usually embroidered and red in colour. However, there is no restriction as far as the colour or design is concerned. In this wonderful traditional Indian outfit, the bride looks absolutely beautiful. While on the other hand the groom is dressed in achkan or sherwani. A turban is a must for the groom and his male relatives. The families and relatives are also decked up differently on the big day of wedding.

Indian clothing is unique in its own way and is renowned all over the world. Clothing is an important part of one’s life and especially in India where people dress up for every occasion enthusiastically. The world is in awe of the manner in which Indian weddings are performed and all eyes are set on the bride and groom that day. Many foreign celebrities have tied the wed-lock in completely the Indian way. Indians take pride in what they wear and this is what sets them apart.
