The bride applies heena or mehndi on her palm and foot, a night before marriage. The next night, when all the rituals of marriage are to be performed, she wears a lehnga, which is usually embroidered and red in colour. However, there is no restriction as far as the colour or design is concerned. In this wonderful traditional Indian outfit, the bride looks absolutely beautiful. While on the other hand the groom is dressed in achkan or sherwani. A turban is a must for the groom and his male relatives. The families and relatives are also decked up differently on the big day of wedding.

Clothing is an important part of one’s life and especially in India where people dress up for every occasion enthusiastically. The world is in awe of the manner in which Indian weddings are performed and all eyes are set on the bride and groom that day. Many foreign celebrities have tied the wed-lock in completely the Indian way. Indians take pride in what they wear and this is what sets them apart.
