The Easy Process To Remove Pet Stains From Carpet At Home

by Ranny Watson Blogger
If you keep domestic animals at home then you may have to deal with stain on carpet not once but a couple of times. These pets may vomit or urinate on the carpet and you will have to deal with the mess. The following is a simple process on how to clear these stains.

Urine stains:

The most effective method to remove pet stains from carpet is by beginning as soon as possible you realize it has hit the carpet. Clearing the urine while it is still wet is easier than if you let it drain and sink deep in to the carpet fabric. So, immediately the pet urinates on the carpet, place towel or several paper towels on the spot of the urine stain so as to ensure it gets absorbed.

Apply pressure on the towels where possible by even standing on them and ensure it absorbs as much content or volume of the urine as possible. Mix up baking soda (4 tablespoons), warm water (2 cups) and vinegar (2 cups). Put this solution in to spray bottle then sprinkle it over the spot of area to be cleaned.

Allow it to sit for between 5 and 10 minutes then use soft cloth to blot it. If the urine stain is very heavy, you may have to pour almost equal amount of the solution (50/50 water and vinegar mixture) on the stain and allow it to sit there for some 5 minutes before blotting it up with some piece of cloth.

Vomit stains:

Pet vomit normally has high acid content and so you need to act fast when it happens. First, you should wipe out as much content of the vomit as necessary. You can use scraper or dustpan for removing the larger vomits of the chunk. Use towel to blot and remove the moisture content of the vomit from the carpet.

Quickly mix solution of vinegar (half cup), liquid dish soap (one table spoon), salt (one tablespoon), and warm water (2 cups). Dip sponge or soft cloth in to this cleaning mixture then apply it to the stained area. Blot slightly and DO NOT RUB. Also avoid using anything that scourges the carpet in this cleaning.

Some vomit stains are very tough and you may have to repeats this process several times so as to ensure the stain is thoroughly removed. In most cases, the stain will get removed but now the cleaning solution will remain and can be removed by putting some clean wet cloth on the area. When the cleaning solution (and the stain) are complexly removed, use towel to blot dry the area.

Another easy way to remove stains from carpet involves pouring mixture hydrogen peroxide solution (half cup) and liquid dish detergent (one teaspoon) over the area and then following the cleaning process described above.
