The Brand Page Advantage

by Neville Dinning Grey Nomad Working Online

Does your Brand Page give you an advantage over your competitors? What is it about your Brand Page that gives you that extra?

And how can you make the most of this benefit?

1: Focus: This is how you can increase the effectiveness even before you start to create your Brand Page.

a: Your Brand Name. Choose this carefully because it is the central plank around which your Brand Page will be built. Some things to note.

  1. Your Brand name MUST be a part of the official website that you register for your Brand Page. that can be the Title ot the domain name of your site.
  2. If you wish to include content from pages in your site in the Brand Page then the Brand name should also be included in the title, or in headline tags on that page.
  3. If possible, use the Brand name for the titles of your Social Media profiles (eg facebook page, twitter account etc.) and link your Brand Page to these profiles.

Can you see how creating a Brand Page will help you to focus?

Rushing in to create a Brand Page without careful consideration may result in the choice of a less effective name.

When the Brand name is chosen, if it is also used as the profile name, or account name at the various Social Media networks where you have a presence, that will help to built authority for that brand.

2: Updating The Brand Page.

Once a Brand page is created, it will not be effective unless it is maintained and updated regularly. Some of the steps are easy and take just a few seconds, but they are necessary to show the increasing authority and trust for your brand.

Include in those things are

  • click the Update Score on your brand page. As a hint, it will show a time since last updated.
  • When you create content related to your brand on your site(s) add it to your Webs to increase the Contents component of the BMC Score.
  • Interact with contacts and connections on the Social Media platforms that feed into your Brand Page. Show that people recognize your brand and what it offers.

3: Check out other Brand Pages.

Decide which are the most effective and then use the strategies that they have employed. If you are not sure how they have built their Brand and the Brand Page, ask them if they can provide some help.

Your Brand Page can be a great tool for building your authority in the niche in which you are working. It does, however need to be maintained and built to increase the power of your brand.

If there are two brands that you are comparing and they are similar in almost every way except that one has a quality Brand Page, which one would you choose to investigate more thoroughly first?
