Technological Advances That Are Changing Industries

by Steven S. App critic and consultant
No industry has gone untouched from the technology revolution we are experiencing. With processes becoming more automated the need for humans is decline. If major changing are not made to the financial system to provide everyone with a basic living wage, the disparity between the rich and poor will grow wider.

One industry that is seeing huge technological advances is the shipping and ecommerce industry. Now thanks to these advances it is possible to get items delivery in breakneck speed at the cheapest prices ever. In this article, I will talk about the major changes that are affecting one of the oldest industries in the world.

#1: Trains Advances

Trains have been around since the early 1800`s and were a vital aspect of the industrial revolution in the early 19th century. China is at the forefront of train advances and have heavily invested in this sector. Recently they completed the 8,000-mile track that spans from China mainland to Spain. This has allowed for freight forwarders and manufacturers to send products cheaply and fast to Europe compared to air or sea delivery.

Another additional advantage of shipping via trains is that they are more environmentally friendly compared to air or sea. With inventions such as the bullet train and the hyperloop currently in development in the USA, this form of delivery is taking leaps and bounds.

#2: Self Driving Vehicles

Only a decade ago the thought of vehicles was able to drive themselves seemed an impossible dream and something only found in futuristic movies. Now they are becoming a reality with major technology companies such as Google and Amazon investing heavily in this new sector. Over the next decade it is highly likely that self-drive cars will become mainstream and once they are it will completely change the shipping and ecommerce industry.

#3: Self Driving Ships

At present, it is estimated that around 90% if trade around the world is carried out by freight ships. It is far cheaper than sending packages by air and enables extremely large objects to be delivered easily. Due to the reliance on this sector, much money has been spent on the development of autonomous ships. In the near future, all goods will be able to be delivered without the requirements of sailors which will greatly reduce the costs and continue to make this sector the number one choice of delivery.

#4: Drones Delivery

Drones have been used for evil purposes however there are many though that are being developed that will help to improve our lives rather than take them. Amazon is the head of the pack with this form of technology and is currently having trails in the UK and Canada to make this far-fetched dream become a reality. It is expected that over the next decade these will become one of the main forms of delivery due to the huge advantages that they offer. They will dramatically cut down the speed of delivery times and be far cheaper than having humans deliver products.

Electric Bicycles

Check out the advancement in technology with these electric bicycles.

Conclusion

The shipping sector used to be one of the largest employers in the world but due to technological advances, this is in major decline. Soon you will be able to order a product and the process of delivery will be fully automated through the use of new technology. New inventions such as the Blockchain are already changing the administrative process so that it can be carried out automatically so no sector is safe from the future tech changes. Advancements in technology have also opened the doors to many entrepreneurs in industries that would typically have a language barrier as a major problem. Just ask a company like emprender-facil.com/es/ how easy it is to operate now days.
