A giant orange colored bridge, a park spanning over 1000 acres and the sight of sleeping sea lions, is what comes to mind when someone thinks of San Francisco. Make Delta Airlines reservation to visit one of the most beautiful cities in the United States. The major attractions in this jewel of Northern California are spread out and involve a lot of traveling time. So, plan ahead for your three-day trip to San Francisco.

Day 1 – Begin the first day in San Francisco by walking the iconic Golden Gate Bridge. The orange-golden bridge is one of the most famous landmarks of the city. Take a lot of pictures standing at every angle of the bridge. Make it a point to head to the Golden Gate National Recreation Area that offers great views of the bridge and a number of hiking trails. The second destination of the day is The Palace of Fine Arts, which is a Roman-style remnant of the 1915 Panama-Pacific International Exposition. After taking pictures around the lagoon, head to the Alcatraz Island. Earlier the island housed the most dangerous prison in the world. Look for Virgin Atlantic flight deals to see the place worst criminals in the US were sent. Later the prison was shut down and since then, the island has become a national landmark and a museum. Wrap up the first day by visiting Fisherman’s Wharf and Pier 39 for sea lions, scenic views and best restaurants.

Day 2 – Begin the second day in San Francisco on a fun note by riding the cable cars. The cable cars are an excellent way to tour the beautiful city and its neighborhoods. After a fun ride on a cable car, head to the Coit Tower. Book Delta Airlines flights to visit this major city landmark that is 210-feet tall and sits atop Telegraph Hill. After visiting Coit Tower, head to the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art (SFMOMA). The museum that has recently transformed under a renovation projection is dedicated to contemporary and modern art. From Klee to Calder, you will find all your favorite artists here. Wrap up your second day in San Francisco by heading to the Chinatown for some authentic Chinese dishes. San Francisco’s Chinatown is the most famous Chinatown in the United States.

Day 3 – On the last day in San Francisco, take a walking tour of the city to learn about the history of the eclectic neighborhoods. After a tiring walking tour, head to the Ferry Building that houses some of the best places to eat in San Francisco. Now that you have explored the major attractions, you can head to one or all the museums located in the city. The popular museums are Beat Museum, Cable Car Museum, Exploratorium and De Young Art Museum. At the end of the last day in San Francisco, head to the Golden Gate Park that features a garden, a museum and lots of hiking and walking trails. Book Virgin Atlantic flights to visit this gigantic park that is bigger than the New York’s Central Park.
