Spas Gaining New Meaning

by Riley Thomson write article

Centuries ago, going to a spa simply meant venturing to spring water nearby to cure some real or imaginary illness. Or you would drink from that water to prevent illnesses because of minerals contained.

Later, the meaning of the word changed and the spa business became associated with upper class men –and they were invariably men in the beginning – going to sauna or massage after some kind of sports activity. It was a luxury affordable by a tiny few.

In the past few decades, however, the spa business has penetrated daily life of billions of people in nearly all countries in the world, certainly in the more developed ones. Going to a spa nowadays does not mean you belong to the affluent class, it simply means you value your health and leisure.

And no one is more conscious of that than major corporations. For them, it is more economical to offer gym and spa membership to their employees as a benefit than deal with billions of dollars it costs them annually to deal with employee work-stress related expenses.

In the United States, that has given a sharp increase to spa operations, and a large part of that is the sale of spa-related accessories and products. It is easy to say why. If you are a man, you often get the option of wearing black disposable mens brief. There are more women using spa services than men so there are more choices for them.

Black backless disposable bra, black bandeau disposable bra, black bikini disposable panty, or black disposable ladies’ brief are some of the more common accessories that nearly all spas offer their female clients.

There are items needed regardless of whether clients are male or female, for example disposable cradle cover for the massage table.

While the spa industry, like many other business sectors, suffered during the recent economic hard times, many of the businesses created a healthy buffer for their profit margins by allying themselves with large corporations and offering especial promotions for multiple membership purchases. They might have lost money on individual membership but many made up for it by ensuring employees were less stressed at work.
