Source The Perfect Starter Kit For Printing Stickers And Labels In-House

by Liz Seyi Digital marketing manager

In these economically straitened times, it doesn’t surprise us here at Prizma Graphics that we have recently received a greater number of calls from start-up businesses and small companies that are eager to get started with printing their own labels and stickers, instead of outsourcing.

Indeed, this developing interest  in printing stickers and labels is not restricted to just small and start up businesses. Such organisations as councils, schools, colleges and large corporate companies are also considering the potential benefits lately of having signs, stickers and labels printed internally.

Whether you’re interested in short runs for internal use to support your business, or you wish to create packaging labels for the benefit of other small businesses, you are likely to be scrutinising every possible opportunity to save money.

Unfortunately, however, we often find many such firms that call us have already purchased a plotter printer from elsewhere, despite having no idea what media to use for the printing of their stickers and labels. This runs the risk of them having purchased a printer that is not well-matched to what they actually wish to achieve.

It was in light of this that we therefore decided to put together two great-value bundles that would help to ensure organisations in this situation benefit from the best possible printer and media for the intended task, right from the outset of their in-house production of stickers and labels.

What bundles do we enable you to choose from?

Bundle 1

This is the lower-priced option of our two bundles for in-house sticker and label production and  consists of the

Canon TA-20 A1 24” desktop printer along with

one roll of 610mm x 30m roll of 120-micron matt self-adhesive vinyl (CJMWAV)

one roll of 610mm x 30m roll of 80-micron removable matt self-adhesive vinyl (CJRSAM)

A3 paper trimmer.

This set of items has many merits for such in-house work; the TA-20 printer, for instance, is a very affordable and versatile machine that is well-suited to the office environment.  Both vinyls included in this bundle are ideal for creating stickers and labels with the option of a permanent adhesive and a removable adhesive vinyl. Meanwhile, it should also be noted that they both also benefit from paper back removable liners, rather than film liners, which makes for easier cutting.

 Bundle 2

Alternatively, it may be our top-level bundle that more satisfactorily meets your business’s requirements. This bundle comprises the

36” A0 Canon TA-30 printer with stand along with one roll of each of the same vinyl permanent adhesive and removable adhesive options

914mm x 30m roll of 120-micron matt self-adhesive vinyl (CJMWAV)

610mm x 30m roll of 80-micron matt self-adhesive removable vinyl (CJRSAM)

A3 paper trimmer.

Why is a Canon wide format printer best for this job?

You may be wondering why we have selected the Canon wide format printer for the task of creating high quality printers and labels. There are various factors that make a TA-20 or TA-30 Canon wide format printer an especially wise choice for businesses and other organisations seeking to do this in-house.

These factors include the printers’ use of five ink colours – Matte Black, Black, Cyan, Magenta and Yellow – all of which are water-resistant pigment inks that also incorporate ultraviolet (UV) inhibitors. Such characteristics make these inks ideal for the printing of labels and stickers that will be in use on a relatively short-term basis, from about six to 12 months.

Both of these machines are also noted for their compact design that enables them to be easily placed against a wall to save space, as well as for their 60% noise reduction compared to the previous model.

A Canon wide format printer from one of our aforementioned bundles also represents a highly versatile piece of equipment for such applications as the printing of posters and technical CAD drawings. Meanwhile, the LUCIA TD pigment inks that these devices use assure you of high ink quality, characterised by powerful colour, crisp lines and sharp texts.

These devices also house 2GB in memory for the handling of larger files.

Finally, you can also specify your Canon wide format printer with various optional extras, depending on your organisation’s particular requirements. These might include a stand for the T-20, as well as a laminating film to protect and extend the outdoor lifespan of whatever you print, and a digital vinyl and contour cutter for the printing of more intricate stickers and labels.

Do you have any questions about which of these bundles may be the best choice for your own organisation’s operations when you are considering in-house label and sticker production, or about your other printer and media options for all manner of applications? If so, don’t hesitate to call or email the Prizma Graphics team for a suitably in-depth discussion of your needs.
