Some Things Change: Some Things Stay The Same

by Neville Dinning Grey Nomad Working Online
Now that the New APSense has been fired up and been launched it's time to have a little look at what that means.

This is not an article that seeks to do what others have done and go on a bug hunting expedition, but rather an opportunity to assess what the changes mean and perhaps consider some issues that may still need addressing.

A dynamic Social and Business Network such as APSense is always going to be in a state of change as various features are tweaked and modified, with the intention of making them better or more effective. That is an ongoing process and is to be expected. The latest changes were more than just the usual tweaks.

Members who were active recently will have had advance notice that changes were in the wind, although we did not know what the details of those changes would be. That is typical of new features and changes that happen. There is a fanfare before the release, a burst of activity and then the feature, service or changes then blend into the background.

Do you remember the release of Augine? The first land filled up very quickly. There was a burst of activity as people tried to get their land and check it out. How many people now use that feature? And has it achieved what it set out to do? Do you know what it does?

Talents were introduced some time ago. Lots of people offered their Talents, and maybe a few people took up a Talent offered. But I guess the whole Talents service has gone the way of lots of things. Big burst of activity at first and then slows down to almost nothing. Probably the only new talents recently have come from people completing missions.

And while we are on Talents. Has anyone yet been able to make the minimum payout of $50? That's going to take several jobs to achieve. Now there's a change that help the service get off the ground. If people offering the service know that they are going to be paid soon after it is completed they are more likely to promote it.

I am pleased to see the new method for showing that you like an article. At least now you have to choose one of the tags to indicate a possible reason for why you like the article.

There are a few things that we had become accustomed to in the older APSense that have gone but I'm sure that we will come to work with the new features, and let's hope that they work well for the future.

What new feature do you think will be the most effective in helping you and your business? And what suggestions do you have for the next big upgrade?

In the words of another APSenser:

APSense has a Secret Formula, To Share!!

Nev, you have such a way with words. I read the article from start to finish. It's clear, easy to follow. I guess we can say that, like any other business, APSense tries things, some are awesomely successful, some don't meet expectations. But overall, seeing the number of members still increasing every day, we are doing a couple of things right, and the 3,658 Alexa ranking speaks for itself

The addition of Business pages for paid members who own a business could be very powerful in the long run. It's a quick way to gain followers for your business, share news and gain team members. But the catch is as it has always been in using the tools correctly. One of the big problems with Augine is lack of activity on the hosting sites. Most of those lands that were bought have zero traffic. That issue is not an Augine issue but an issue with the sites that have been posted.

Well said, APSense has many good things to offer, but the most vital one is a solid foundation, it has taken a longtime to get where we are now. Since l have seen more changes then most members, l feel the direction is solid, with many benefits for all its members to share and learn how to use APSense as a tool to grow their business. Last not forget one thing regardless of all the good tools and marketing abilities it can offer it all boils down to one important aspect.....YOU............and how you use the tools to marketing your products...if you have no desire to work the system............then you will say what a waste of time that place is....

Life is an Attitude that we can directed it any way we want to .....when you think of that ho really stop your from obtaining success, your mind set....change your words, change your thinking and learn the system will provide you with the right attitude for achievement.....

good Article and well stated......

I agree with Joseph and Cheryl. In my band there is one that bought himself a very expensive new trumpet. However that does not make him a better musician. LOL we all suffer when he plays. Another musician spent some money on music lessons and his performance with a second hand trumpet is much better. In this line of speech, at times specific songs are played all day till new songs come out and it disappears to the back ground. However some songs will never die. Time will tell if talents and Augine are a one day fly or an evergreen.

@ chuks. I agree with you that we have some fine tools here at APSense. I do like the changes, they make everything more available.
@Joseph F Botelho I read your response twice. I found it informative and enlightening. do you mind if I use our line"Life is an Attitude that we can directed it any way we want to". That is my philosophy and says volumes on what we all need to attend to daily in our lives.

Well stated!!!
Indeed time will tell what will last and what won't.

One thing that gets better and better is...
Google LOVES APSense. always has.
Posting good original content here at APSense can only help your business GROW!

I am certain Wincer is already dreaming up new ideas to help APSense.
Myself I will keep moving forward as I have always done....
I think of APSense as a cocktail party and I am that social butterfly
I flitter here and I flitter there, topping, posting and replying as I go along to
the different articles and Rev-Pages.... and I never ever ever would dream of dancing on the
table at this cocktail party!
Dancing on the table is SPAMMING,
Please don't do it at this wonderful place we call APSense!

Thanks for the post Neville

I've grown to really rely on ApSense for much of my promotions as well as a way to connect and share with others who have similar interests. I'm still getting use to all the changes, but change is...it's that simple.

Thanks for the article.

The thing is, people forget fast. We are solicited, no, BOMBARDED by all kinds of offers, demands, questions, online and offline. We have to work on keeping the word out. I did that not long ago on a project and I tremendous success with it. We have to talk about it every day. Some people will say it can be annoying. I'm not talking about sending emails every day to your list or downline. I'm talking about posting new information, news, updates, mention new referrals, sales, keep talking about it. Some members who see it often will choose to ignore it, but members who are less active might be interested. Have you ever watched TV for more than 2 hours without a commercial about cars, hamburgers, clothes, perfume, beer? These companies could stop, couldn't they? They make zillions of dollars. But they know they will lose market share if they become silent.

Thanks to the folks who took the time to comment on this article. Following some of the comments I decided to take another look at Augine, activated the widget on my site again.

Now to see what effect that might have. And I have also considered using the Talents service again. It just goes to show that writing an article can also motivate the person writing it too.

Like many of you, a visit to APSense is a daily activity for me. Once again, thanks for you thoughts

I use Augine for many sites in a bit other way because most of my sites are Dutch. I have the sites sett on need approval since basically I only allow postings in Dutch on it. I kind of use it as an internal message system for my Dutch sites

Back when this article was first published I wrote "A dynamic Social and Business Network such as APSense is always going to be in a state of change". It appears that more updates are on the way. Once again they may be more than little tweaks to iron out some wrinkles. Let's prepare ourselves to work together to make APSense the #1 Business Social Network.

HI Neville, yes there are some changes to improve the overall flow of how APSense will conduct future business, getting more members working within their niche Market, which will allow all of us to concentrate in certain areas of expertise. I have seen the modification and do believe we all be impressed. More to come soon, but we are not too far off....just a lot of work ahead...Getting members working hand in hand is the key to our and each members success...
