We all know that come cereals are healthier than others. What constitutes a healthy breakfast cereal; well nutritionists would say it should be low in sugar content as well as high on fibre and low in fat. There are plenty of brands who will offer this and although it may compromise on taste it definitely is healthier and the one to opt for when on a cereal diet. So high sugar muesli might not be the right one to go for when you plan to lose weight.

So if you really do want to incorporate the cereal diet , remember you will still need to include other foods as simply eating cereal will not be sufficient in meeting your body’s needs.

Start your day with healthy breakfast cereals, and have about one serving or about 3/4 of a cup of cereal grains with 1 percent or skim milk and add some fruit such as some berries or bananas or any fruit of your choice. Other healthy breakfast foods would be boiled egg and rye bread.

By mid morning you will have the cravings and this time a mid-morning snack of a piece of fruit, raw vegetables or a low fat cereal bar should  be a health snack and nutritious too. You can also include a clutch of almonds or nuts like pecan or walnuts are also a good little snack. Cereal muesli bars  or a low fat granola bar can be quite filling too.

For lunch then a bowl of cereal preferably the same on you ate for morning or choose another one to add variety. Again you can add some fruits to this and keep it varied so you can benefit from the different nutritional properties they offer.

For an afternoon snack either opt for crisp bread, raw vegetables with a low fat dip or low fat cereal bars. A fruit cocktail cup will be good to curb the cravings and combine with grapes, bananas and some crisp bread. Soya snack are good too high in protein and baked they help curb the cravings too.

So when it comes to dinner, keep it sensible and balanced. You can include some protein at this point as the overall caloric intake through the day with the cereal diet will have been low, so make dinner healthy and wholesome. Fish, lean white mean, lentils with steamed vegetables are good options as you will need some protein at this stage.
