If You Think Shower Head Water Filters are a Gimmick, Think Again!

  The American Journal of Public Health published the results of a 10 year long study comparing the incidence of cancer among people with chlorinated water and people without.  The results showed a significant difference.        The group with chlorinated water had more cancer and chlorine is only one of the 2000 different cancer causing chemicals found in tap water.  The best shower filters block them all.
 
     The EPA recently released a report that said, "Virtually every home in America has a detectable level of chloroform gas in the air due to chlorine and showering."  Chloroform gas is one of the by-products of powdered chlorine, which is trapped and removed by shower head water filters with activated carbon.      Researchers believe that as much as 2/3 of the dangerous exposure to chemical vapors occurs in the shower.  Chemicals are absorbed through the skin and inhaled along with the steam.  Inhaled chemicals hit the blood stream faster and the effects can be immediate.  The best shower filters have a multi-stage system that blocks more chemicals than the single stage carbon units.
