by Rony Neogi SEO Analyst

Tree cutting is a tricky job and sometimes a major part of any landscaping process. Tree cutting can be on several levels, you could either need to cut a tree in your backyard which could be damaging your boundaries or blocking a gate. Or, you could be shedding trees in some rainforest professionally. For every kind of tree cutting, there’s a type of chainsaw that is built. But before you start the buying process we would want to ask you some questions:-

  1. Your experience with chainsaws?
  2. How frequently would you be using the machine?
  3. What type of tree wood would you like to cut?
  4. The Diameter of the tree trunk that is to be cut?

We have tried to make it easy for you by trying to answers the above questions ourselves.

Usage Level: A) Beginner,  B) Amateur,  C) Pro

 A) Beginner -

If you are a Beginner with Chainsaws we would like to recommend you using lightweight electric chainsaws that can be started easily & don’t require too much maintenance. Toolsvilla deals in a wide range of Imported electric chainsaw machines that is perfectly suitable for beginners. They are very economically priced & don’t require the maintenance of a petrol engine machine. However for long reach cutting like the sawing of twigs & branches you can use pole pruner chainsaws

B) Amateur -

For amateur users, who use chainsaws once in a while for tree cutting we would recommend you using heavy-duty electric chainsaws from Kisankraft or easy start imported petrol chainsaws on Toolsvilla. They would not burn a hole in the pocket and would last long. Petrol chainsaws though would demand occasional maintenance owing to the wear & tear the petrol engine might go through. However, for the Walbro carburettors in our imported chainsaws, the start becomes easy. However what we would recommend is always using best chainsaw chains from Oregon, Makita, Canfly, Tiger or Hitachi.

C) Pro -

For professional users who do tree shedding regularly & professionally, we would only like to recommend branded Petrol Chainsaw machines from Manufactures like STIHL, Husqvarna, Makita & Hitachi. These chainsaws are robust & the built quality is awesome. The important thing for any professional work is the reliability & these manufacturers make really awesome machines. Starting from the gear & switch to the carburettor everything about branded chainsaws are quality checked at various levels.

Type of Wood to be Sawed

A) Soft -

For cutting of softwood trees, one can use electric chainsaws with up to 2 Hp motors or petrol chainsaws with up to 52cc petrol engines. You can also select the length of the guide bar according to the diameter of the tree that is to be cut.

B) Hard -

For cutting hardwood trees we would recommend using an electric chainsaw with 3.2 Hp to 4 Hp motors that would make the cutting effortless. You can also buy chainsaws with a powerful petrol engine with 58cc up to 75cc in capacity.

Size of the Tree Trunk

Tree trunks can come in several sizes. Starting from 10 inches in diameter in your backyard to up to 30 inches in diameter from the rainforests. Therefore it’s important to understand the length of the guide bar that is required in the machine. For 10 inch trunks you can easily select machines up to 14-16 inch guide bars however for thicker trees up to 20 inches we would recommend you going for machines with 22-inch guide bars or more. For rainforest trees that can go up to 30-inch thick one needs to select very heavy duty Husqvarna chainsaw with up to 36-inch guide bars.
