Saxlyft: The Scissors Lift To Uplift Your Car As Well As Your Ease Of Work!!
by Raychel Rain WriterWhat is a scissor lift?
A scissor lift is a kind of platform which can be raised vertically and then be used for the purpose of lifting cars. The reason why this lift is known as a scissor life because of its shape when seen at the bottom is that of the scissor.
How does it work?
The equipment has criss cross “X” pattern at the foot of it. The mechanism by which the scissor lift works is through the use of linked, folding supports in a criss-cross "X" pattern, known as a pantograph (or scissor mechanism). The upward motion to raise the platform vertically is achieved through the application pressure to the outside of the lowest set of supports, elongating the crossing pattern, and propelling the work platform vertically. The platform may also have an extending "bridge" to allow closer access to the work area, because of the inherent limits of vertical-only movement.
The contraction of the scissor lift has to be done meticulously. The method used for it can be hydraulic, pneumatic or mechanical (via a leadscrew or rack and pinion system). A power system is employed in the lift which may need no power to enter “descent mode”, rather a simple release of hydraulic or pneumatic pressure. The idea behind employing these methods of power system is to ensure a fail-safe option of returning the platform to the ground by release of a manual valve.
