RTNU Bhopal – India’s First Skilled Based University

The Rabindranath Tagore University of Bhopal was previously known as AISECT University was established in 2010. RNTU aims to make higher education affordable and available to everyone in India. It focuses on providing skilled based quality education to the students. RNTU Bhopal has established 12 skill-based academies to provide 34 skilled development courses to become India’s first skilled based university. RTNU is recognized by Section 2(f) of the UGC Act., AICTE, NCTE, BCI, AIEO, INC, and MP Paramedical Council.

Educational Facilities

The esteemed faculty of RNTU is highly qualified with Ph. Ds from IIT and NIT. They have years of teaching experience to provide a conducive and exciting environment for learning using traditional and modern methods of teaching. Every year the faculty members participate in conferences organized by top educational institutions to provide the up-to-date subject knowledge to the students. The university has also established the core research group with an allocation of 1 crore seed fund to promote research work. 

Rabindranath Tagore University has 9 centres of excellence namely Entrepreneurship, Agriculture, Arts, Environmental Science, Earth & Space Science, Material Science, IoT and Computing, Energy, and Science Communication. Every year RTNU organizes and participate in various seminars, talk shows, conferences and workshops held at national and international level.

RTNU offers graduation, post-graduation, and research programs in technical and non-technical subjects. It has modern laboratories to assist in research work and practical for a better understanding of technical concepts. This creates a conducive environment for students to develop an interest in research work and a better understanding of the subjects.

RTNU also offers support, reward, motivation, and various facilities to its students and faculty members for publishing their papers and books. In the last 5 years, around 1000 papers and 50 books are published by students and faculty members

Infrastructure Facilities

RTNU Bhopal has 15 buildings and a lush green campus located between two hills. It has a modern infrastructure that includes new age laboratories, libraries, classrooms, e-learning facilities, auditorium, sports ground, recreational centre, canteen, medical centre, clean and green premises. The good infrastructure of the college always assists students in learning by offering an ample number of books, journals, good condition laboratory equipment’s to do practical, and internet facilities to gather more information. 

Campus Life

RNTU Bhopal emphasizes the complete growth of students by enhancing their creativity, competitive spirit, developing constructive hobbies and grooming their personality. Therefore, the university has excellent hostel facilities, sports facilities, a student club for debate, drama, and art forms. It also conducts various cultural activities and competitions throughout the year for shaping the overall persona of the students. 

Distance Education

Rabindranath Tagore University also offers various distance education to promote skill-growth among working professionals and those living in remote locations. The university offers 25 distance courses that include B.Ed., MBA, BA, BBA, B. Com., BCA, B. Lib. Sc., BSc Bio., BSc (CS), BSc (IT), BSc (Maths), MA (Eco), MA (Eng), MA (Hindi), MA (History), MA (Pol), MA (Sanskrit), MA (Sociology), M. Com., MSc (Chem.), MSc (CS), MSc (IT), MSc (Maths), MSc (Physics), and MSW.

Scholarship Program

RTNU provides scholarship programs by the name of ‘Shiksha Mitra Scholarship’ to offer monetary help to students coming from a poor background. There are three scholarship programs as follows:

• Scholarship for the meritorious students to assist them in higher education
• Scholarship for students belonging to SC/ST/OBC class
• Scholarship to faculty wanting to pursue higher education like PH.D. or M.Phil.

The basic purpose of offering scholarships is to make education available to all those students who want to seek higher education in Bhopal College but are not able to do so due to poor financial background. By availing a scholarship program, the student can pay their education fee and they can also buy study material to study without getting worried about the finances.
