Method 1 – Check whether Windows Update is running
- Launch Control Panel.
- Visit to Administrative Tools.
- Locate services from the screen.
- Run services.
- Wait for services to open, then locate Windows Update services.
- Double click to open its properties.
- Locate Startup Type in Windows Update Properties, then from the dropdown choose Automatic.
- Check the service status.
- In case if the status isn’t set to Running, then select Start button in the same section.
- Hit OK to save the settings and restart the computer.
Method 2 – Disable IPv6
Consumers believe that disabling IPv6 helped them to rectify the problem, so in order to rectify the error follow these directions.
- Launch Control Panel.
- Visit to Network and Sharing Center.
- Search your connection.
- Hit right and select Properties.
- The list will appear on the screen.
- Search Internet Protocol Version 6 (TCP/IPv6) and uncheck it.
- Hit Ok to save changes.
- Restart the computer to check whether the problem is rectified.
It can also be done by Registry Editor.
- Enter regedit into the Search bar.
- Select Registry Editor from the list of results.
- Go to the following key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCurrentControlSetServciesTCPI
- Right press on the parameters on the left pane.
- Select New > DWORD (32-bit) Value.
- Below the segment of name select DisabledComponenets.
- Select the new DisabledComponents value.
- Press Modify.
- Type ffffffff as Value data.
- Choose OK to save changes.
- Close Registry Editor
- Restart the computer.
- If a user wants to enable IPv6, then go to the same key like in Step 2.
- Just change the value of DisabledComponent to 0 or just delete DisabledComponents key.
