Real Men Wear Pink to Work

by Pink Gear Support Breast Cancer

While gentlemen stand idly by as seven Australian women lose their struggle against breast cancer every year, real men wear pink. Men around the world are now standing up for the 2, 700 women lost to breast cancer every year, and the survivors and their families, whose struggle we may never be able to fully comprehend. When real men wear pink, they support the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) in their quest to eradicating the amount of deaths from breast cancer to zero by 2030.

The Real Men Wear Pink campaign was created as an awareness initiative, and the reason why men are supporting it, is because they realise that women are not the only victims of the disease. One percent of all breast cancer cases involve men. Every year, 140 Australian men are diagnosed with breast cancer.

It is becoming more evident that the people are supporting the cause, as more real men wear pink in the workplace today than ever. This phenomenon are spreading, especially in the transport, mining, construction and civil industries. Workwear manufacturers are distributing quality pink uniforms and safety gear in a variety of styles, making it easier than ever to look good while spreading a message of hope.

Pink is no longer a "girl's" colour, and pink workwear is extremely stylish and manly. Drill shirts with pink and navy, pink and beige, pink and yellow and pink and orange panels are more popular than ever. Additionally, manufacturers include high visibility panels or strips on the garments to meet day and night safety standards.

But not only real men wear pink. Women, too, are supporting the cause by wearing pink in the workplace. From medical and other care professions, to women in non-traditionally female professions are wearing pink. Workwear suppliers now manufacture pink hardhats, caps, sports singlets and bags, corporate National Breast Cancer Foundation support dress shirts, and polo shirts.

Companies are behind the Real Men Wear Pink Campaign too, and they grab the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of Australian men and women breast cancer sufferers and their families and communities. Suppliers allow companies to print or embroider their logos or branding onto the pink workwear. Some of the pink workwear will carry a National Breast Cancer Foundation logo on one breast, and the company can have their own logo printed on the back or on the other breast. If your company has not yet jumped on the bandwagon, now is the time to join the Real Men Wear Pink campaign.
