Rare Cannabinoids and Their Unique Benefits

by Aritra Agarwal Marketing Manger

The active ingredients in cannabis are cannabinoids. Cannabis contains well over 100 different cannabinoids, many of which are unusual cannabinoids. The endocannabinoid system in the human body has receptor sites made to work with cannabinoids. In order to modulate body activities, we actually make our own cannabinoids that fit like locks and keys into these receptors. Endocannabinoids are those that our bodies naturally make and phytocannabinoids are those that are present in marijuana. Cannabis' cannabinoids aid in returning the body to homeostasis when it is out of balance. An endocannabinoid deficiency is a situation where illness and disease are present. It can show up as hormone abnormalities, persistent pain, digestive problems and sleep problems.

What makes cannabinoid rare?

Cannabinoids' rarity is frequently determined by their share of the total. They are notable because of how they affect the overall flavor of the plant. The total THC content of a cannabis extract in a lab analysis may be close to 80%. 75% of those 80% could be THC. Rare cannabinoids such as those we will discuss below, make up the remaining 5% of the cannabis plant. Even though they are small, they are powerful. The effects would not be as potent or advantageous without this full spectrum of cannabinoids.  In actuality, the alleged benefits would be much less noticeable and the high would last less time.

Popularity of Delta 8 THC

In the hemp industry, delta-8 THC is highly regarded. Despite being present naturally in both hemp and marijuana, the percentage is quite low. This psychoactive cannabinoid is created by hemp producers using multi-step extraction procedures that synthesis and separate Delta-8 from other cannabinoids like CBD. The issue is that, in comparison to its relatively small output volumes, this method is convoluted, untidy and produces significant amounts of toxic waste. It still promotes joy and exhilaration while providing physical relaxation and pain relief. However, it doesn't have a lot of psychoactive effects. It's a lovely addition to the entourage effect when taken in naturally occurring marijuana dosages.

Why rare cannabinoids are important?

Rare Cannabinoids which bind to cannabinoid receptors have a number of medical applications, according to pharmacological studies. The prevalence of this ongoing study is rising and it has the potential to reveal therapeutic applications for a variety of cannabinoids. There are also new applications for cannabis in veterinary medicine. By using naturally occurring cannabinoids, less of the potentially dangerous off-target effects of synthetic alternatives are required.

Potential demand for rare cannabinoids

The success and rising demand for cannabidiol (CBD) products have stimulated study and investment into the therapeutic potential of many minor cannabinoids as well as strategies for generating them in ever-increasing quantities at a cheaper cost. Hundreds of cannabinoid compounds, each with unique active properties and varying legal standings around the world, are present in the complex plant known as cannabis. Minor cannabinoids are found in lower concentrations in the plant than more prevalent cannabinoids like CBD, therefore typical extraction procedures do not result in a profitable yield making their large-scale cultivation and processing difficult and expensive.
