Raised and ring face flanges for steel pipe

Raised Face Flange: this kind of flange would seal with a flat gasket. And thus, we can make it design for installation between the raised faces of two mating flanges. The advantages of raised flange is that it’s would increase their gripping and retaining force on the flat gasket.
Ring type Joint Flange: this kind of flange has grooves cutting into their faces which accept steel ring gaskets. Sealed with BX ring gaskets, the ring type joint flange with raised faces of the connected and tightened flanges may contact each other. In this case the compressed gasket will not bear additional load beyond the bolt tension, vibration and movement cannot further crush the gasket and lessen the connecting tension.
