In comparison to all the cities of India, Raipur is quite new. It is the capital of the state Chhattisgarh, which itself is a new state. As it was created by slicing a part of the Madhya Pradesh state. If seen on the map, it is located right in the center of the state, exactly the center. The infrastructure is well developed. The city is slowly and steadily emerging as a touristic place too.

The city is particularly known for the very famous Dudhadhari Math Temple. It is ancient from the very ancient times. It was built by getting inspired from the famous and very renowned mythological tales of Ramayana and built in dedication to Lord Rama of course. The inspiration is such that the walls of the temples have carvings and scriptures from the different interesting episodes of Ramayana. Overall, it is the most visited places in Raipur. Not just to seek blessings as devotees, but to admire the artwork outside and inside of the temple too.

Raipur’s food delicacies can be put in two ways, tribal and non-tribal, where both are extremely worthy of trying. The region is very well known as central India’s rice bowl. Rice and rice flour are used a lot like the main ingredient in many dishes. Some popular dishes made up of rice and rice flour are fara/muthiya and angakara roti. One very famous recipe made up of lentils is the Bafauri. It has a pretty unique taste and it is a must-have if visiting Raipur.

Raipur is easily reached by airways and the Hotels in Raipur near the Airport are one of the best options one could think of accommodation. In the end, Raipur is not just a new capital city of the country but has got a lot more to explore and be amazed about.
