Book a ticket in a few clicks

They can easily book it by logging into the official website of Indian Railways or some other travel websites. Online tickets of a particular train are available prior to 90 days from the date of journey. So, if one decides to buy a ticket of a particular ticket, they can do it 90 days earlier from the date of journey. The early one books a ticket, the good and preferable berths or seats they get. This is because train tickets are sold very fast and thus the seats get filled up easily. If you buy a ticket late, there is a least chance to get a seat according to your preferences, and there is also a high chance to get shifted in the waiting list as the seats get filled up. But if there is an emergency trip, one can always book a ticket by availing Tatkaal facilities.

Even if one has to cancel their tickets after booking, they can also do it online. But one has to pay a minimum cancellation price depending on the gap of the date of cancellation and the date of journey.

Indian Railways have also introduced a digital time table, which shows the arrival and departure time of each and every train. It also shows whether a train is running late or not. So, online train status tracking is also easier these days. There is a 10 digit PNR or Passenger Record Number given on the top left of the passenger’s ticket. By entering this number, one can get the PNR status which reveals every detail of the train like the departure and arrival timings, the train coach position, etc. So, with the help of PNR status, one can keep an online track of the train in which they are supposed to make a journey. As all this information is available by just a few clicks, it has become very easier for a passenger to avail a train.

In fact, Indian Railways has taken many measures to make train journeys more comfortable. They have introduced new coaches and developed engines, so that the journeys are smooth. They have also introduced catering services, which will help one to avail foods and drinks while they are on a go. Improvement in railway tracks is also being done to avoid casualties.
