Professor Layton and the Unwound Future to Be Launched for iOS and Android Devices

by Karen Jodes technology world

The Professor Layton series has been one of the most sought-after games since it first released in Japan. Growing fans in huge numbers, they decided to launch in North America two years later. It will be known in Australia and Europe as Professor Layton and the Lost Future. The first two games have been launched on Android already, and the third installment is all set as well. The game received rave reviews from everyone including critics and fans. If you’re a fan of the game, you’ll get exactly what you were hoping to. Mind-boggling and mystifying puzzle action. Some even called it the best Layton game yet.

The game is based on the story between Luke Tritton, and his Professor Layton’s apprentice. Luke’s older version comes back to the past seeking Layton’s help preventing a terrible future. As intense as it sounds, the game is filled with exhilarating puzzle action. It is an adventurous journey where players solve puzzles, and the story moves along with video segments. Due to the growing popularity, a subtitled HD version will be released for smartphones.

The first two games were very well received too!

This is the third addition to the franchise. The first game, Professor Layton and the Curious Village was launched for smartphones in 2018, and the second one, Professor Layton and the Diabolical Box released in 2019.

Professor Layton receives a letter from the future, sent by his assistant Luke Triton. The Professor is told that London had turned into utter mayhem as the first time-machine was created. What happens next is as evident as time itself. The Professor takes present-day Luke along with him to further investigate the issue and help whoever needs it.

The show has been top-rated among audiences from all parts of the world. Puzzle solvers everywhere spend days solving every intricately built puzzle. The show has a whopping 86/100 on Metacritic. The mobile version will have much better graphics than the original Nintendo DS version.

Since December 2010, Professor Layton and the Unwound Future has sold 862,967 copies in Japan itself.  More than 1.87 million copies have been sold in North America and Europe. All of those, without launching on other platforms. These kinds of single platform sales are impressive, but the critical acclaim that the game has managed to achieve at every subsequent level has been a masterful act to watch. Fans cherish this brain-teasing adventurous storyline and are eager to see what’s next in-store.

There’s no pre-registration available for Professor Layton and the Unwound Future, but the date speculated as of yet is July 16th. Let’s hope for the best.
