Preparation Tips for MBA Entrance Exams

MBA has become a popular career choice for the youth. Majority of students take up MBA as their post graduate degree programme. However, many of them fail to clear the exam due to lack of knowledge. The entrance exams conducted for entry into MBA colleges are highly challenging and demand thorough preparation. Earlier, there was CAT, Common aptitude test which gains you entry into the IITs, and IIMS of India. The AICTE, has introduced the CMAT, common management aptitude test, which will further gain you entry into many more management schools of India. Thus, you will get a wider menu to choose from. All these entrance exams are on a national level and encounter stiff competition. Thus, it is very essential to study for them thoroughly. Following are some tips which can help you crack MBA entrance exams like CAT or CMAT:

* For both the exams, CMAT or MAT, most important thing is to be thorough with your syllabus. You need to look upto the syllabus and cover each and every topic. Leaving even the slightest of details can lead to your failure. You must however pay greater attention to subjects and topics that hold higher weightage as they will fetch your more marks.

* Excellent time management skill will take you a long way. You should make sure that you prioritize the time to be spent on different topics. Start with the topics you find easier and have a better understanding of and then move on to the more difficult subjects.

* It is very important to extend your vocabulary. Both CMAT and CAT or any other MBA exam would dedicate a portion to vocabulary and word meanings. For this, read books and include new words in your daily speech to use them in your sentences.

* For the Math section, a thorough revision of XII standard mathematics should suffice. If you are from a non-mathematics background, then you can consider studying from a good GRE/ GMAT books.

You can use these basic tips to clear exams like CAT or CMAT, which are otherwise very difficult to clear. It should be kept in mind that there are thousand other candidates appearing with you for the exam and they have also worked very hard, so in order to be a part of any top notch MBA school of India, you need to put in extra efforts and portray your true potential and skill.
