Pokemon GO: Feebas Research Event Disappoints Trainers

by Harry Williams Manager

As in the older Feebas Research event, Pokemon GO trainers were required to complete some research tasks in order to accomplish the quest.

Those who succeed to complete the entire assigned quest had a chance to encounter shiny Feebas Pokemon.

This research event was somewhat similar to the past Community Day events as this Feebas research also a time-bound event.

Trainers had three hours to accomplish this task, and if they failed to complete all the assigned quests, they would not be able to catch a Shiny Feebas.

Although the Community Day challenge event was quite successful this Feebas research task gat some major backlash.

Trainers of Pokemon GO were quite excited with the concept of this new type of Research event but still as the day for quest arrived players felt that the tasks were not easy to accomplish and the time frame provided for such tasks was not quite sufficient.

As in the previous, Community Day event players gat an increased spawn rate of the selected Pokemon, it was not such in this Feebas task as players first had to fulfil the assigned quest’s and then only got an opportunity to locate the Pokemon.

Some of the players made a rigorous effort to accomplish all the tasks, and still, they were unable to encounter or located one or two Feebas Pokemon, and it required a much more Pokeballs than usual to catch them.

Various gamers and community members have requested the Niantic to improve on the Research tasks and provided a number of feedbacks to improve on such types of Research tasks and events.

One of the more difficult tasks was to hatch an egg within the three hours to receive a chance to encounter Shiny Feebas, but it was still an exciting and unique task to introduce and make players roll out to catch the Shiny Feebas.

Although this task received some backlash from the community still trainers were impressed with this different Research task and suggested few tweaks to improve the in-game experience.

With few improvements in the Research task mechanics, like increasing the Research task time frame and providing increased spawn rate, such Research tasks can be much more fun and would avail more scope for trainers to grab on those pocket monsters.

It is yet to be seen how Niantic would improve such Research tasks in the feature or will they introduce such tasks with an entirely new twist.  Hopefully, Pokemon GO developers figure the appropriate solution for these tasks and induce new features to the game.
