PlayStation 4 - Advantages & Disadvantages

1. No worries or hassles about online demands, used games, permanent ownership

3. Slight power advantage could allow some extraordinary experiences later in the generation, and could create superior PlayStation 4 editions of cross platform games
4. Tons of standard first party studios such as Naughty Dog, Sucker Punch, promise some special next gen experiences
5. A lot better control pad over the DS, looks actually usable
6. Touch pad should aid with UI/media/web aps control
7. Smaller and less weighty and chunky box.
8. Admit used games just like they are today
9. User exchangeable hard drive
10. Region free
11. Play Station 4 GDDR5 is a lot quicker than Xbox One DDR3 so PlayStation 4 games should look a lot better. At least if developers do not hold back like they performed on the Play Station 3.

Disadvantages
1. General lack of reliability when it comes to online services and up-dates-- this morning it was announced that the latest PS3 firmware was bricking some PS3s. Seven years into this console and five months far from the coming this sets off serious alarm bells for me because to Sony's competence in this area.
2. Much less servers to depend on for cloud functionality
3. No PlayStation Eye with Kinect 2 functions (not that I 'd use it anyway.
4. Charge for multiplayer

The PlayStation 4 is more affordable, slightly far more powerful than xbox one, and I just plain trust Sony more not to spoil the user experience by filling it with ads and putting stuff like Netflix behind a paywall. And on top of that there's the fact that the Xbox's premier developer-Bungie-has gone multiplatform, and that Halo, Fable and Gears all feel like they're lacking gas/having key developers leave their teams; all while Sony remains to deliver even this year with the Last of Us, Ni no Kuni, Gran Turismo 6, and Beyond ... it's just a ridiculously one-sided fight. The only factor I see to get a Xbox One is if you have to have the next Halo ... and are not convinced that Destiny is pretty much that, but with more creative juice in the tank.
