auspicious as your desires this is the one. We're used to making resolutions at
the start of the year, but there is an alternative approach. Resolutions smack
of there being something imperfect that we resolve to fix. There is already a
sort of inherent negative before you start. It's no wonder we fail on our
resolutions more often than not.
The other approach has
a much more positive spin. When you set out with an intention your mindset is
already geared toward achieving a new goal, it is active and your thoughts are
motivated. You stand a much better chance of achieving something that is a move
toward rather than a move away.
Here's an example of
how that could work. You could resolve to be less lazy more, or you could
decide to do a half marathon. The effect of both might be that you run more -
but which one gets the competitive juices flowing?
