by Chris D. Fencing Contractor & Repair Experts
Wondering how to repair that broken hose in your garden? Wish you could fix the dripping outdoor faucet on your own? Well, consider that your wishes were just granted. In this article, we are going to disclose some easy-to-do DIY repair hacks that you can employ for resolving the nitty gritty problems with your outdoor utilities.

Leaky Garden Faucet

You will need a suitably-sized screwdriver, adjustable spanner and valve stem or replacement washers for this. In case the faucet is leaking around the handle, try tightening the packing nut located at the back of the handle. If it doesn’t work, disassemble by taking the handle off, then the packing nut and valve stem. Install new washers if the old ones are worn out or cracked.

Vandalised Steel Fencing

We agree, waking up to a vandalised steel fencing is not funny at all. If it’s graffiti on your steel perimeter, here’s what you can do about it - get a Du-Pont graffiti remover from any home improvement store, and use it as per directions provided on the container. However, don’t try to fix on your own anything that is damaged, and get in touch with an expert offering fencing repairs.

Broken Garden Hose

First, make sure you keep ready shears (or cutters), replacement washers, hose mender insert and clamps. If there is just a leak, you may have to install a new washer at the connection point. In case the damage is due to a cut or tear, you will have fix the hose. A minor cut can be repaired with some duct tape, but for a major one, you will have to cut out the affected section and re-seal the two clean ends. If an end has got mangled, simply cut it off and attach a replacement clamp.

Landscape Light Issues

These can include a landscape light not standing up straight and/or refusing to come on. The solution for the first problem is a larger ground stake for attaching the light. When it comes to the second issue, you may either have to replace the bulb with a new one or check the cabling. If there is something wrong with the cable, you will need to call a good electrician for fixing it.

Thus, by using some simple techniques, you can easily fix a number of outdoor home problems without spending much. All you need is to be a little skilled at handling DIY repair works, that’s all.
