Onsite rigging safety courses are a must for riggers

by American Crane And Safety OSHA rigging and signal training

Rigging is a very common work process on construction sites and shipyards where the workers lift equipment with the help of cranes, hoists and other handling machinery. Performing this work safely is critical. Many cases of workers being killed or injured have been caused by the loads slipping or the rigging failing. There are many onsite rigging safety courses available for the riggers to equip them with the right knowledge and skills to handle the job properly.

When working with equipment during the rigging activity, OSHA notes that the workers should be very careful.  They should be properly trained on the hazards pertaining to this challenging job.  The workers should have the right OSHA rigging and signal training to comply with all the procedures.  The surface where the activity is conducted should be even and firm enough to support the crane and load.  The onsite rigging safety courses will help riggers anticipate issues before they happen. And if there is an unsafe situation, they should recognize this quickly and take steps to stop the work immediately.

Hope you are convinced now why rigging training is important for riggers.  If you are a rigger or an employer who has a team of riggers, you should not ignore the benefits of rigging training. You should make sure your team has the right training to do the job in the best possible way.
