Chinese smartphone maker OnePlus recently launched two devices back on May 14 - one was the OnePlus 7 Pro and the other was OnePlus 7. Obviously, the spotlight happened to be on the 7 Pro, as it was easily the best phone that the company has produced in a long time.

The device had curved sides, QHD+ display with 90Hz refresh rate, a crazy Nebula Blue color, pop-up selfie camera, and an ultra-wide angle lens accommodated into a triple-rear camera setup.

The Dark Horse: OnePlus 7

However, we must not forget about the OnePlus 7 which itself is a great phone and certainly a worthy upgrade for those who are using the OnePlus 6T or earlier. The device comes with a flat-screen and is using the same AMOLED display used in the 6T, 6 and 5T.

Hardware

OnePlus 7 runs the same internals as the Pro, so you can find the Snapdragon 855 SoC along with 8 GB of RAM and up to 256 GB of internal storage. For authentication, the device relies on the in-display fingerprint reader which is said to have become 30 percent faster as compared to OnePlus 6T.

Operating System

The device also runs on Android 9.0 Pie with the smooth OxygenOS skin overlaying it. In terms of optics, the OP7 features 48 MP, f/1.6 primary camera with laser and phase-detection autofocus along with OIS and an 8 MP, an f/2.4 telephoto lens which is capable of 3x optical zoom.

Battery

In terms of battery, the device features a 3,700 mAh battery along with OnePlus' 30 W Warp charge technology. The battery should easily last an entire day with decent usage.

With the OnePlus 7, you have the choice to choose from the 6 GB RAM/ 128 GB storage variant that is priced at Rs 32,999, whereas we also have the top-end 8 GB RAM/ 256 GB version that is priced at Rs 37,999. Talking about colors on the device - there will be choices of Mirror Grey and Red.

Where to Buy?

As with the earlier Pro model, the OnePlus 7 will be sold exclusively on Amazon, OnePlus.in, and OnePlus’ offline retail stores, starting from 12.00 pm on 4 June.

Apart from that, the device will be available across all partner stores from 14 June onwards. Don't forget to sell old mobile before you upgrade to double the joy!

OnePlus 7 vs OnePlus 7 Pro

Obviously, OnePlus 7 is for those who are not willing to spend the massive, nearly Rs. 50,000 mark that the OnePlus 7 Pro has set. There are some sacrifices that have been made in the device, but overall it delivers on the OnePlus’ motto of giving the best bang for the buck while the 7 Pro competes with the high-end flagships. So if you can live without the additional extreme optimizations, such as a pop-out camera and curved screens - this is the device for you.
