Nursery Admissions Begins In Noida Schools

NOIDA: Nursery admissions in two Noida schools will begin from Wednesday. Amity International School in Sector 44 launched online admission process on August 17.

Somerville School in Noida's Sector 22 and Nehru International Public School in Sector 11 will start the registration process on Wednesday.

Nursery admissions in Noida-based schools start in August-September every year. In the absence of a regulatory body, Noida schools conduct admissions on their own and each school has its own admission norms. Most schools, however, offer admission on the basis of factors including siblings, alumni, staff and proximity. The age of children seeking admission should be between three and four years as on April 1 for this academic year.

Different admission schedules have created confusion in the minds of parents. "These schools should streamline their admission process. It is difficult to fill forms of different schools and run around to secure a seat," said Mohit Garg, a parent seeking admission for his three-year-old child.

Renu Singh, principal of Amity International School in Sector 44, said the school started online registration of students on August 17. "The students can register themselves for the admission latest by August 26. We will evaluate the applications based on the admission criteria and will organize an interaction programme with parents on August 24," Singh said.

There are 400 seats in the nursery and the school prefers students from Noida. However, some students from Sarita Vihar and Mayur Vihar are also admitted to the school.

Delhi Public School Noida in Sector 30 will begin admissions on August 22, which will continue for one week.

Madhu Chandra, principal of Lotus Valley International School, Sector 126, said the admission process will begin in the last week of August. The school has 336 seats in the nursery classes. Asha Prabhakar, principal of Bal Bharti Public School in Sector 22, said the admission process will be from August 31 to September 10.
