This article shows you the true picture of north east India, a corner which is less visited but is extremely beautiful and soulful.]

North east India is one of the less trodden areas in the country. So it goes without saying that this region is amongst the most secluded and quietest areas in India. The pockets of Assam and Arunachal Pradesh are extremely refreshing. This area is less populated and there are many open landscaped corners which can bring back memories of the childhood. North east tour package can put you on a jovial trip and send you hurtling down the slopes of Cherrapunji or into the land of the rhinoceros at Kaziranga.

Let us take a look at some of the major places and attractions in north east India:

1. Assam: Assam is a state which will always lure the naturalist within you. It is perhaps the most naturally blessed state in the whole of India. On one hand, it has the Brahmaputra River and on the other hand, it has the Kaziranga Forest, the home to the one-horned rhino. There are many other natural places in Assam, like the Manas National Park which is home to beautiful animals. Anyone who likes wildlife would be intuitively drawn to this part of the country. Then there is the Pabitora Wildlife Sanctuary, another green corner where birds and bees are found in abundance. Assam also has some quiet and spiritual temples like the Navagarh Temple or the Kamakhya Temple.

2. Arunachal Pradesh: Arunachal Pradesh is another heady green corner where the population is sparse and the forests are many! Far from those glaring malls and gaudy skyscrapers, this state is home to rich flora and fauna! So, when you are in Arunachal, you can expect to run into rhinos and walk over green paddies. The state also has a rich culture and some of its traditional customs & dance would have a permanent mark on your mind. The locals are very warm and the weather is quite pleasant. Places like Bomdila and Tawang are perfect for sightseeing. There are a few Buddhist monasteries which can be explored. The lakes and forts are also worth checking. Then there is the Namdapha wildlife sanctuary which should be your perfect excuse to spend a day amidst wild creatures. And yes, you can also catch the tigers and cats at this corner!

3. Sikkim: Sikkim is another serene state which is included in a north east tour package. It has azure skies and white clouds to tempt you; and there are a number of Tibetan monasteries to make your heart enraptured! Sikkim is one of those few places which are so lovely that you do not want to go back home. In terms of attractions, Sikkim’s cupboard is not bare! It has the hills, the gardens, the parks and the monasteries to show you! It may not have any beach or any flashy shopping mall! But then Sikkim was never the ostentatious, snobbish type! Its USP is its quaintness and its adamancy to stay true to nature! The top attractions of Sikkim are Gangtok, Enchey Monastery, Changu Lake and Do Drul Chorten.
