Non-Surgical Treatments To Save Saggy Neck

The neck is probably the most neglected area when it comes to anti-aging. It is not uncommon to see people with tight, flawless face with wrinkled, turkey neck. It is no point spending so much time and money to age proof the face but not the neck because the excess skin and wrinkles and the neck will give your age away.

What Treatments Do You Recommend for Neck Lifting?

Dr. Siew: It is difficult to determine what works best because everyone is different and I usually combine different treatments to address a skin concern. Generally, if one has mild to moderate saggy or wrinkled skin, Ultherapy, or Thread Lift treatment will certainly help to tighten the loose skin on the neck. Depending on skin texture and the needs of my clients, I may also perform Nefertiti Botox Neck Lift to define the jaws and lift the lower face or Rejuran Skin Healer Treatment to rejuvenate the skin.

Can You Share with Us the Procedure for Ultherapy Neck Lift?

Dr. Siew: Ultherapy is often seen as a non-surgical alternative for surgical facelift because the it can target and reach the subcutaneous fat and SMAS layer of the skin, which are usually addressed by the plastic surgeons when they perform a surgical facelift.

Ultherapy is capable of delivering consistent heat of up to 70 degrees Celsius to the SMAS layer to stimulate the development of collagen and elastin fibers without damaging the skin surface.

Depending on your pain threshold, your doctor may apply topical numbing cream or administer painkillers to reduce any discomfort you may have during the procedure.

Can You Share with Us the Procedure for Neck Thread Lift?

Dr. Siew: Neck thread lift is a more invasive as compared to Ultherapy. Numbing cream will be applied and micro-injections of local anesthetic will be injected into specific areas of the neck to numb the whole area.

When the neck is numb, the doctor creates small puncture marks on the neck to insert the threads to anchor the loose skin to lift and tighten the neck. Immediately after the procedure, you may experience some discomfort and tightness for a few days. This is normal. You should refrain from strenuous activities that may cause the threads to migrate.

What About Rejuran PDRN Treatment? How Does It Work?

Dr. Siew: Unlike thread lift treatment, Rejuran PDRN treatment is not a skin lifting treatment. Therefore, immediate, visible results may not be seen.

Rejuran PDRN treatment works by repairing aging, damaged skin cells to achieve smoother, firmer skin. It works by reversing common signs of aging such as wrinkles and fine lines. It is also a great treatment to strengthen and thicken the foundational layers of the skin to promote regrowth of new skin cells.

The doctor begins by administering small amounts of Rejuran PDRN into different areas to kick start the cellular repair.

Which Neck Lift Treatment Is the Best?
