New To Vaping? All You Need to Know About It

Are you one of the people who’s sick and tired of constantly hearing people around you saying that smoking will kill you? Switching to e-cigarettes is one of the best ways to kick the bad habit and eventually stop smoking. Even if you don’t want to quit smoking for good, e-cigs will be a clean and modern alternative that won’t cause severe health issues. The good news is that when you decide to switch to e-cigarettes you won’t have to make new life choices. If you’re strongly considering vaping, we have a few pointers that will make the transition much easier.

Expect to cough at first

When you switch to vaping, don’t be surprised if you start coughing at first. It is a normal reaction to a new habit you'll be developing. Because the sensation of vaping is different from smoking, your lungs will need time to adjust to it. Whether you’re switching from standard to e-cigarettes if you're about to start vaping without ever having a cigarette before, coughing will likely be inevitable at first. If you used to smoke, you’ll cough because inhaling vapour is different from inhaling cigarette smoke. Vapour feels ‘thicker’ than smoke causing a cough from the change in sensation. Nicotine salt can help combat the cough. Within a few days of starting vaping, you’ll notice the cough starting to subside and eventually go away.

You may experience a dry mouth

If you want to start using e-cigarettes, you should know that a dry mouth, a dry nose and throat will be potential side-effects. No need to worry though, because this is normal too. E-liquids contain four main ingredients, or three if you’re going nicotine-free. Some of the ingredients are hygroscopic and they will naturally draw water to them, making your mouth drier than usual. All you need to do to avoid it is to drink the occasional extra glass of water.

Get Only Premium E-juice

While you may think you can save on e-liquids, we advise you not to. A high-quality E-juice will be invaluable for your health and the whole vaping experience. Instead of investing in cheap Chinese e-liquids online, protect yourself by putting your money to good use and invest in premium E-juice for your E-cigarette. Don’t risk getting all the impurities from low-quality vaping devices into your lungs, but always shop only for the certified liquids and e-cigarettes.  Premium vapour liquids have no impurities and thanks to medical-grade nicotine, food-grade ingredients, and a good reputation, you’ll know you’re not putting your health at risk.

Good E-liquid Maintenance Is Crucial

If you think that all it takes to switch to vaping is simply investing in an e-cigarette and liquids, think again. Vaping is so much more than a simple indulgence in a bit of nicotine. Namely, as any electronic device, this one will require regular maintenance. First, be sure you shake your e-juices before you use them. That way, the PG/VG and nicotine levels will mix well, ensuring you get the best quality vape. You should keep your e-liquids out of direct sunlight to prevent the decrease of the nicotine levels. Never leave your e-liquid bottles open. If you allow it to breathe longer than a few minutes, it can significantly decrease the flavour of the juice.

Don’t Forget to Clean the Tank Regularly

Another important step in vaping is cleaning the tank regularly. Empty and clean out your e-tank at least once a week. All you’ll need to do is disassemble the vapour, and pour out remaining e-liquid. After that, make sure you use hot water to rinse the tank, mouthpiece, and atomizer. Air-dry the entire device and you’re good to go once it dries out. The gunky build-up, leaks, and bad tasting flavours are just some of the possible results of a dirty e-cigarette, that you’ll probably want to avoid.

Final Thoughts

If you’re about to switch from smoking to vaping, you’ll need this little guide to help you out. All you need to remember aside from the information we’ve given you is that every person is different. What might work for your friends may not necessarily be what you enjoy, so feel free to experiment with brands, liquids and flavours and see which one gives you the most satisfaction.
