These changes to the list of occupation have been made post consultation with the Department of Jobs and Small Business as per the labor market advice given by the department. If you are applying for permanent residency via Australia Visa Subclass 189 Skilled Independent Visa or Skilled Nominated Visa Subclass 190, you must know that this updated skilled occupation list was brought out keeping in mind that the entry of overseas skilled migrant workers remains carefully attuned as per the Australia labor market needs.

This update has opened the doors to employers, who can offer wider employment opportunities and sponsorship to immigrants who wish to permanently work and settle in a multiculturally gifted paradise like Australia. Now you have a wonderful chance for Australia Immigration, with the Department of Home affairs widening its scope of occupations for skilled immigrant workers, who were previously not able to find their suitable profession on the Skilled Occupation List (SOL) of Australia.

With this development, David Coleman, the Australian Minister for Immigration, Citizenship and Multicultural Affairs said that “The Government continues to focus the Migration Program on addressing skills gaps in the economy and these initiatives demonstrate that commitment”.
