Need To Know All About Branded Perfume

by Dhanu Singh Digital Marketing Consultant
A perfume is an essential addition to every individual, especially women, as they are more conscious about almost everything, including the way they and everyone else smells. Smelling good is considered to be a good social etiquette and is encouraged in many places.

However, the obsession of owning at least one branded perfume in spite of owning so many from smaller brands is something that we all have felt.

Why branded perfume, and what is so special about it?

There has always been a comparison between the quality of materials between banded and non-branded ones where the former always wins. Branded perfume comes with a lot of promises of proving the maximum gratification of smelling heavenly and that too for a very long time.

The difference:

Branded perfume and non- branded perfume have a major difference in the amount of oil concentration and alcohol content that is present in the perfume. Branded perfume companies follow the high road where the oil concentration in perfumes is quite considerable, allowing it to stay for a longer duration. Non- branded perfumes focus on the alcohol content, which vanishes after sometime as it dilutes with the air.

The different types of branded perfume:

Parfum, Eau de parfum, Eau de toilette, Eu De cologne, Eu Fraiche are some of the fancy names you can see in a fragrance shop. These, though, sound similar and are very different. Let's take a look at each one separately, so that next time you will know what to go for.

• Parfum is the highest variant with an alcohol level of 20% - 30% and lasts upto or sometimes even more than 8 hours.
• Eau de parfum consists of an alcohol level of 15% - 20% and lasts upto 6 hours.
• Eau de toilette has a weaker fragrance because of less oil concentrate as it has only 5% - 15%alcohol and lasts only a couple to 4 hours at max.
• Eu De Cologne is only for a very short time as it consists of 2%- 4% of alcohol content. This is suitable more if put on the skin rather than on clothes.
• Eu Fraiche, this is not preferred by many because its only for instant gratification of a good smell which seems to wear away within some time of spritzing it. That is mostly water and very little alcohol content.

Branded perfume variant ranges between parfum and Eu De toilette. Now that you know the difference next time you go to a perfume store, go ahead and check your knowledge.

Based on this principle of oil-water and alcohol concentration, top international perfume companies create perfume lines that are different, better and brand. Some of the top international perfume brands & companies are-

• Lomani
• Christian Dior
• Gucci
• My Perfume
• Otoori
• New NB
• Colour Me
• Chris Adams
• Louis Cardin
• Bvlgari
• Ralph Laurent
• Creation
• Emporio Armani.
• Burberry
• Vera Wang

The best way to wear perfume:

The best place to apply perfume is always your skin as compared to clothes as the perfume spritzed on the skin will react with body heat and continue to emit essence for a long time. Applying perfume too, the inner wrists, the base of the throat, behind ear lobes, and the inner elbows are considered to be the best places because of its share of exposure to body heat and air to accentuate the smell.

Thus, after knowing all the information and the knowledge that a whole world of luxury perfumes is spread out just for us to use, owning a branded perfume should definitely be on your bucket list.
