NASA’s water rocket simulator inside your classroom
by Space Trek 3D DesignerImagine a rocket powered only by air, pressure and water.
Easy, inexpensive and fun, is it? But if we told you that it can teach your
class all the physics principles in half the time than it normally takes you,
would you try it? And what if we added that it was the perfect fun-filled
activity to bring your science lessons alive?
Educators are always challenged with improving curriculum
and devising new ways to engage students’ best potential and encourage thorough
understanding. Time and again many studies have proved that hands-on activities
are the best when it comes to effectively communicating ideas in a classroom.
Children learn best by doing things themselves and asking questions.
One of the most popular activities to do in a physics class
is to build and launch a water rocket. Space Trek has expert STEM instructors
who have created teaching modules akin to NASA’s water rocket simulator, but
only better. Space Trek’s Water rocket program is equipped with latest
technology and many layers of learning. Due to varied levels of difficulty,
Space Trek’s rocketry program can be applied in curriculum for middle and high
school.
While there are many programs that teach about building and
launching a water rocket, Space Trek’s water rocket simulation lets students
monitor the rocket flight and monitor its trajectory. Students in Space Trek’s
rocketry program get to launch rockets inside a classroom with our indigenous
launch box system, that lets students gather launch data by firing a rocket
inside a box.
This prepares them for final launch in the open. When
students are able to test their rockets, they’re able to apply that information
to achieve better results in the tasks.
Many students from all over the world have experienced Space
Trek’s water rocket simulation at our headquarters at NASA’s Kennedy Space
Center Visitor Complex. Now we have developed a program kit that can travel to
schools across America. Our launch boxes are ready to be shipped to any
instructor who wants to conduct this experiment in his/her classroom. This will
enable all students, everywhere in America have an opportunity to learn with
the latest technology.
Space Trek will continue conducting Rocketry space camps at
the Kennedy Space Centre Visitor Complex but we envision that more and more
instructors can enrich their students’ experience within their schools and
neighborhoods. Space Trek is committed
to provide unmatched STEM education experiences for students and teachers
alike. That’s why we are prepared to let our water rocket simulator travel
around the U.S.
