myOrien: The New Boom in Telematic Industry

by My Orien Humanize Tchnology

The Telematics Industry has been on a steady rise when it comes to implementing innovative solutions for various use cases. Brilliant minds married to the recent advancements in technology have led to the development of uniquely useful products that have aided in making the world a better place. One of these aforementioned products came from myOrien. The following will discuss about what myOrien is and how it is going to contribute to the growth of the IT industry.

What is myOrien?

The myOrien can be basically defined as a smart plugin for your automotive vehicle. By attaching to the OBD port of a vehicle, it acts as the interface between the driver and the vehicle. With potentially innumerable use cases, the myOrien device is impressively scalable and equally innovative.

The primary aim for the myOrien is to relay crucial information about a vehicle to the driver. One of the most ideal use cases comes from the fact that it enables the driver to know about the health of their vehicle. This allows the owner of the vehicle to know exactly when the automotive is in need of a maintenance session. This is particularly useful since, generally, the vehicle owner has to rely on the estimated intervals that are given by the car manufacturers. For example, there can be times when the health of the engine is rapidly degrading because of some external issue with the owner knowing about the same. Prolonging these situations can damage the car to an unrepairable state.

Through the integration of various simplified technical solutions, the myOrien device is capable of compiling all the data and converting it into a user-readable format for the driver. Along with the same, the myOrien device offers various other features that are detailed in the following.

What Can It Do?

  1. Speed Alert - Owing to the access to car’s internal accelerometer and integrated GPS technology, myOrien can make the driver aware of the speed limit of the road that the vehicle is traveling on. This promotes a safer driving experience and reduces the chances of some unwanted mis happenings on the road.
For example, if a driver is driving on a road that permits the speed of 50 Km/hr, failing to notice that, the driver will be driving above 60 Km/hr most of the time. The myOrien device will inform the driver that he/she is going above the speed limit and will allow them to avoid any undesirable penalties.

  2. Intrusion Detection - Under any normal circumstances, any unwanted intrusion in your vehicle will be met by a high-pitched alarm. This is standard in most of the cars today but is also easy to bypass. The myOrien device can know when there is an intrusion in your car. In that situation, along with a loud alarm, the device will also alert you through its dedicated application in your smartphone.
For example, you’ve parked your car in an isolated area where intruders can get to your car without alerting anyone. With the myOrien device, you’ll immediately be alerted of any such activity and will allow you to act on it.

  3. Monitor Health - By having access to various data streams from the individual components of the vehicle, the myOrien device can gauge the overall health of the vehicle and relay the same information to the driver. Knowing the health of your vehicle can allow you to better care for the automotive. The data is served to the end-user in real-time owing to the 3 seconds refresh rate of the device.
For example, there was some unwanted debris lodged in the main components of your car, and it was steadily degrading the overall health of the vehicle, the myOrien would let you know about any unexpected change in data. This will enable the owner of the vehicle to immediately take the car to a repair shop to perform the required repairs.

  4. Geo-Fencing - The myOrien companion application allows you to create a virtual fence around a certain location. If the vehicle goes beyond the specified bound, the application will notify you of the same. This feature can be quite useful for a few uses cases, one of which is detailed below.
For example, you needed to lend your vehicle to an employee. You’d want to assure that the specified employ would use your vehicle only for the task that you’ve assigned to him. You can create a fence, and if the employee goes beyond the allowed point, you’d know and then you can take the appropriate action.

  5. Rapid Acceleration - The myOrien device is also equipped with its own accelerometer. The component allows the device to sense if the vehicle is traveling with a rapidly increasing acceleration rate. In such cases, the device can notify the user of the same to promote a safer driving experience.
For example, if a driver is driving aggressively and is unaware of the same due to some circumstances, the device can notify him on the same to allow him to avoid any mishappening and any unwanted tickets.

How Does it Impact the Industry?

The myOrien device stands the ideal example to state the potential within the simplest of technologies. The simplistic nature of the myOrien device represents the fact that there are still several implementations that the industry hasn’t thought about yet. The development and the launch of the device will inevitably, in some degree, force the IT industry to rethink on the potential for some of the simplest of technologies. The fact that the myOrien device provides a wide array of features through the inclusion of simple technologies is ultimately going to usher an era of uniqueness and innovation.

The impression that the device will leave on the IT industry is deemed incredibly prosperous for the future of the industry since it is going to motivate other contributors to innovate with the pre-existing set of technical solutions.
