Man shot by police after confrontation outside Campbelltown train station

The ABC understands officers were chasing a man down a Campbelltown street when he pulled out a large knife and confronted them.
The man is believed to have been shot in the stomach before he was taken in an ambulance to Liverpool Hospital for medical treatment.
