Maharashtra: Govt Issues COVID-Related Guidelines For Schools Amid Rising Cases
by Suraj V. Digital Marketing (sr. SEO Expert)With schools in Maharashtra slated to reopen this week, the government has reportedly issued COVID-19 guidelines for it in the midst of rising coronavirus cases in the state. According to reports, the guidelines emphasise booster doses for teaching as well as non-teaching staff. Moreover, schools have been propelled to encourage vaccination amongst those over the age of 12.
Based on accounts, the school education department made a
Government Resolution (GR) about the beginning of the new academic year. The GR
dated June 10, not only reaffirmed the reopening dates of the school but also
mentioned various precautions that need to be undertaken by the educational
institution if a student tests positive for COVID-19.
It has been reported that the guidelines highlight that the
local education department at various wards will have to see to it that the
teaching and non-teaching staff are completely vaccinated, this includes the
booster doses if the first two doses are administered. Moreover, they have been
asked to curate awareness regarding the importance of vaccines against
coronavirus, whilst having to make arrangements for the same if needed.
Additionally, schools have been told to propel vaccination for students over 12.
While there isn't any mention of masks in the guidelines, schools and parents have been
asked to follow the local administration's rules.
Narratives suggest that the resolution elaborates on how the
schools are expected to curate awareness amongst parents to ensure that they do
not send their children to school if they have any coronavirus concerning
symptoms. It adds that if a student is found to have any symptoms on school
premises, the management is expected to offer an isolation facility and
administer either an antigen or RT-PCR test. Further, it remarks, that if a
student tests positive, all other children who came in close contact must also
be tested.
On the other hand, another order was issued which asked
schools to celebrate the first day of students in schools. It aims to create a
positive environment so students are excited to return to school. In
Maharashtra, schools are reopening on June 13 after the summer break, but students will commence
classes on June 15.
