The battery is a rechargeable lithium battery that has a life of 3 years. It has an uninterrupted working time of 140 hours. The standby time is almost 100 days and don't forget there is a power switch that you can turn off to conserve the battery life. After the initial charging it should take about 2 to 4 hours to recharge the internal battery. The connect button, power button and the LEDs are on the bottom of the keyboard.

The back of the keyboard is aluminum and it matches the iPad. It is a very thin design and it is about the thickness of two American quarters except for the battery storage area and the electronics. Ever since I saw my sister with her new Logitech folio case for his ipad air, I wanted one. Unfortunately, Logitech only makes cases for apple products. Then I saw this keyboard. After researching reviews, I immediately bought it and return the other keyboard. What really had me sold was the built in stand, the built in battery, and the options to choose what OS you are using so that the keyboard shortcuts would work.
