Look Around The Gold Coast For Fantastic Natural Wonders

by Kristen White Blogger
The Gold Coast is not only a metropolitan region known for sandy beaches and surfing spots. There are many options to explore the wilderness, once you move slightly away from this bustling place.

Springbrook National Park
Set less than a 100km from Brisbane, and you will encounter a National park whose trees seem to remember the times when Australia was merged with Antarctica. The Springbrook National Park makes for over a quarter of the Gondwana rainforest that is listed as a world heritage site. With lush rainforests, spectacular waterfalls, and natural beauty, there are plenty of things to discover in this park.

Trails for Exploring the Hidden Gems
Opting for a Springbrook national park tour will take you to the twin falls circuit. Take a dip in the rock pools and get ready to be amazed by the two waterfalls. Visit Purling Brook Falls accessed by a photogenic suspension bridge. This bridge hangs over the forest canopy, and you will be rewarded with an excellent view of the waterfall from the gorge below.

The Natural Bridge walk is one of the main interties for any Springbrook National Park tour. Reaching the bottom, you can find a waterfall that cascades through a basalt cave and is lit entirely by natural light.

Explore the Flora and Fauna
Often described as the Noah’s Ark of rainforests, you will find a wide variety of wildlife in this forest. You can find more snakes, frogs, birds, and marsupial species than anywhere in Australia. Spot the rare Albert’s Lyrebird, whose numbers are estimated to be only 3500 in the world. Reptiles like carpet pythons, lace monitors, and fat black shiny lizards are also seen.

This park is also a paradise for flora fans. There are over 170 varieties of flowering plants, and some of them are over 180 million years old!

Go on a Hike
One of the most exciting Mount Tamborine things to do is to go hiking. These extremely popular trails are easy and short. They take you to Curtis falls, Cedar Creek falls rockpools and lookouts, or the McDonald circuit. A little farther, you can find the Witches Falls Circuit, Cameron Falls Circuit, and Witches Chase track.

Picnic and Horse Riding
Bring in your partner and kids to this gorgeous location for a memorable picnic experience. With special barbeque areas and child-safe play areas, this national park is the favourite for picnic enthusiasts. Horseback riding is also permitted in some parts of this national park. These guided tours ensure that safety guidelines are followed for a pleasant experience.

Mount Tamborine
This place may be very close to Brisbane, but you will feel worlds away. This picturesque area has many goodies in store

Reach for the Sky
Start your day with a beautiful sunrise. Hop into the hot air balloon that gives you a scenic view of the surrounding landscape and the sea. Once you are down, stop by for a champagne breakfast and free wine tasting. Sounds exciting right?

Feel on Top of the World
The Tamborine rainforest skywalk is possibly the best way to appreciate the beauty of Mount Tamborine. Immerse yourself between the treetops and follow the path to descend to the lower canopy. Walk past the rock pools to reach the cantilever that towers 30 meters above the valley. It offers a spectacular view, as well. Visit the rainforest eco gallery to explore Mount Tamborine’s indigenous history.

Conquer Your Fears with Treetop Challenge
Considered as the best Mount Tamborine things to do, this sets your hearts racing by hanging from the trees, balancing in bridges, and navigating through suspended channels. There are various courses designed for different levels of adrenaline junkies.

Being surrounded by pristine nature is something we all crave. These attractions near the Gold Coast offer an enchanting experience that you will remember for a lifetime.
