Know More About Plastic PET Bottles Advantages

by Ricky Martin Marketing Consultant
What is PET?
PET stands for Polyethylenterephthalat. It is a thermoplastic plastic produced by polycondensation in the family of polyesters and has many different uses. It is used for the manufacture of plastic bottles (PET bottles), films as well as textile fibers.

Due to strong intermolecular forces, PET is polar. The molecular structure is linear without any crosslink. Both are essential for semi-crystalline areas and fibers. High tensile strength and dimensional stability at temperatures above 80 ° C are the result of the above mentioned.

PET as a material has been in the market for many decades already and there are many PET bottles supplier and PET bottle manufacturers. Among other fibers for the textile industry and films are produced. It has also established in the field of packaging technology. Whether for cosmetic or chemical-technical applications, PET containers have been positioned on the market for many years, especially the food industry.

Advantages of PET
  • Beautiful & Universal
The great transparency and the shiny surface offer a special charm and lend the PET-packaging a sophisticated image. New labeling solutions with double-sided printed labels give the bottle an outstanding beauty. A nearly unlimited diversity of design is permitted by the flexible production process. In particular the machine and mould technology employed by E-pro PLAST offers a universal design with minimal mould costs.

  • Light Weight
Up to 90% weight reduction, compared to glass! Therefore a more economical transportation is achieved. Better mechanical qualities give a weight reduction compared to PE- and PP-bottles. In contrast with extrusion blow molding no material is wasted during the PET-production process.

  • Product Safety
PET-containers are virtually unbreakable because of the outstanding material qualities and due to this there are no fractures while filling, transporting and use. Even with damage, there no injuries can be caused by splinter parts. PET gives an optimal protection to all consumers.

The properties of PET are:
  • High transparency
  • Exceptionally shiny surface
  • Very good stability
  • High pressure resistance
  • Good barrier properties
  • Light weight
  • Precise molding of the bottle neck

PET offers many advantages in comparison to other packaging materials. It also shows a very high gas - barrier resistance in particular to other plastic materials.
