Know All About Admission Process in Singapore University

Singapore universities have more than 50,000 international students studying, which is one of the highest in Asia. Study in Singapore: Admission cycle
In the Singaporean universities, the academic session starts in August for undergraduate and postgraduate courses as well. Applicants are required to start the procedure a year ahead of time. For the August session, applicants should preferably begin their search for the favored programmes in July a year in advance, and undertake the recommended examinations and work towards finishing the application procedure. Nanyang Technological University takes admissions two times in a year for August semester and January Semester.

Study in Singapore: Eligibility criteria
Students aspiring to take up courses in Singapore should clear the globally approved exams for undergraduate and postgraduate programmes like GRE, GMAT, BMAT, and SAT to name a few in order to get admission. Singapore university admission often requires the students to clear English proficiency exams such as TOEFL and IELTS.

Cost of studying in the country
Singapore is not only one of the most preferred study destinations for the international students. Quality of education provided to the students pursuing their higher education in Singapore can be compared to countries like Australia and Canada. Undergraduate courses in the country are comparatively less expensive and may cost around $35,000. Apart from the tuition fees, students are required to pay for their accommodation with expenses averaging on USD 5000 annually. Including food and transportation, the entire living expenses in Singapore may go upwards USD 22,000 annually.

Student visa
After securing admission in Singapore university, international students are offered a Student Pass. However, foreign students are required to apply for the Singapore Student's Pass at least two months before the start of their academic session. It is important for the international students to apply for the Student’s Pass before they come to stay in the country. Students can apply for it through the Student's Pass On-Line Application & Registration (SOLAR) system.
