Just how stupid do you have to be?

by Arthur Webster Just plain honesty

I don't ususally use specific examples when high-lighting the problems with Apsense but http://www.apsense.com/article/free-advertisement.html?page=2 is such a perfect example that I could not resist.

This "article" is copied and pasted from the web site of a new safe-list called List Bonus. The fact that it is a blatant advert NOT in the advertising section - spam, in other words - caused me to take the author to task.

I challenged the fact that the site offers 1500 emails to members but only has 107 linking domains - a small discrepancy that should ring alarm bells.

I asked what it was that 11 people had "liked" about this advert.

Unfortunately I did not realise that I was dealing with yet another person who not only did not know what he was talking about but would not answer my questions. Indeed. like so many cowards who are challenged in any way, the author resorted to pathetic innuendoes and insults.

Worse, he was patting himself on the back because he had displayed his impotence by deleting my comments because he did not like them

I know that I am not the only person to be offended by the infantile levels of argument and discussion on far too many streams so I invite anybody who can see that there is still (even at the eleventh hour) merit and potential in Apsense to join me in trying to raise the value.

I very seldom attack individuals on a personal level - even in self defence - but this copy and paste author was not worth the effort to educate him. Hence my last post to his article:-

Enjoy your ognorance and stupidity, Mario, I guess it takes hard work to be that stupid and petulant. When you grow up into a big boy you might want to learn what a group is in Apsense and why THIS IS NOT A GROUP! Any coward can delete posts to his articles if he is incapable of defending himself.

Is it really true that the intelligent members of Apsense have been driven away by the pathetic twaddle and mass spamming? Has Wincer bowed down to wash the feet of the ignorant opportunists who see HIS site as a spammers heaven? Why are there three tips to writing better articles at the top of the article creation page when it is obvious nobody reads or cares about them?

Is Apsense worth saving?

Hello Arthur, this is a heavy article and it looks as if you are for some reasons really upset.

Although I agree with you regarding the promotion of 'stupid content' I think that no one, even the worst spammer deserve those hard words.

So, I went to the profile page of the Author and have to admit that this person looks a little bit 'suspicious'. An aggressive picture and further information only for friends. What has he to hide?

As APSense for me is a great platform with wonderful people who are really offering content, I don't think that a figure like our 'anonymous' Author will survive here. Or he will only find like minded people here, which we are not aware of....

Coming back to the article of the 'anonymous' Author - To my opinion he is starting with on line marketing and with safe lists and therefore unable to understand what is going on. He simply feels attracted by this offer and promotes it as he is convinced that the program is good.

So, this guy need to learn a lot.

Hi, Rieke, there are still people like you who can appreciate what Apsense has to offer. My own feelings are that you should be able to continue to enjoy Apsense but the constant abuse of the site by spammers will do great harm in the not so long run. Someone has to try to salvage the situation by drawing the attention of serious members to what they could possibly lose if the abuse continues.

Yes Arthur it unfortunately is true . The intelligent members are leaving thanks to morons like Mario, who it should be noted is breaking TOS by not having a picture of him in his profile but a flag. I also condemn the one that allowed the pic. However i digress the point is if they wont follow simple TOS as that what hope of them following any other rules.

Hi, BJ, as the hoodies say "rools is fer fools" and if you don't accept that, they get offensive. It seems there are too few people at Apsense who give a damn.

It is sad the state of APSense. This was once an awesome site. The only thing of any value now are add-ons as the main site is so overrun with spam and spammers 'liking' each other's spam articles you cannot find anything of worth anymore. Just for grins yesterday I clicked on "Articles you may like and found nothing but spam, promotion of spam and more spam. It was like that old Monty Python skit in the diner where the only thing on the menu was spam. Oh yeah, that skit is exactly why we call it Spam!

Perhaps having a click-able "I agree" at the bottom of a made to scroll and read T.O.S for posting articles maybe helpful. Sure anyone can pull the scroll bar down manually without reading a word but .. 2nd thought is what about moderation? If posts are clearly mus-categorized and blatant advertising, why not just flag for deletion? IE: Perhaps a link imbedded beneath all articles where respectful members at APSense can report posts such as this.
1st thought was - would that be considered plagiarism or are the words actually marketing copy allowable for affiliates to use.. You're right! I haven't bothered to visit the site & don't plan to.. Old Koot's post is enough for me to take his word for it. Just my thoughts.
