Jokulsarlon Beach is located between Hofn and Skaftafell on the south coast of Iceland at the edge of the Vatnajokull national park. It is also known as jokulsarlon glacier lagoon. This beach has grown due to the melting of glaciers. This was found in 1970 which covers about an area ranging from 18.2 km to 248 km. It is the deepest lake in Iceland Mostly tourists and photographers visit this beach as it is considered as natural wonders of the world. If you are going to visit this beach, then you will find a lot of icebergs which are of different colors, shapes, and sizes. Some of the icebergs seem to like diamonds as sun rays are falling on it. This place is also the habitat for wildlife. You will see many seals swimming in the lake. Most of the tourists prefer to watch that scene. This site is so beautiful and the weather is so good which attracts many filmmakers to make their films. We will find many activities on this beach. For instance, there are boat tours between April and September. During the summer season, it has become a crowded place.

People have to book their boat tours in advance. During boat riding, we will come to see many northern lights which are visible only in the dark. During winters, you can visit the crystal ice cave near Jokulsarlon. Tourists can stay at many places near to this lake. They are Hali country hotel, Gerdi guesthouse, Hotel skaftafell, Foss hotel glacier lagoon, etc. Some visitors also go for ice carving and these caves are seen during November and March every year. You would see Seljalandsfoss waterfall whose height is about 60m long.

It is a pleasant place which gives enormous experiences to the people visiting there. People should not try to imitate the acts done by the actors or filmmakers. Otherwise, you may get captured under the sea. Take your time to enjoy the journey at this beach and appreciate the sights.
